Ranked their speed...

I'd throw Grabner in their. I don't think ANYONE on this board has actually seen Raymond play. Speed doesn't mean s*** all if they can't finish **Cough Reid Cough**

Anyways, I like the way the Canucks have drafted the last couple of years regarding fast players. Grabner is the fastest player in the entire WHL. Nuff" Said.

A few of us have. One of his games was broadcast online by North Dakota. His speed was fairly evident.

It is really evident with his trading history he needs time adjusting to his new suroundings. After 1/2 season with Moncton he came back and ripped it up this year. I think he'll pick it up soon enough.

Thanks to mr7 for the sig

I see Grabner now has 36 goals and 14 assists in 50 games matching his exact total from last year, but that was in 67 games.

Rahimi penalty costs Game 1

Daniel Rahimi's team Bjorkloven lost Game 1 of their series against VÀxjö last night, 1-2 in overtime.

Together with the three regular season match-ups between those two teams, Bjorkloven now has lost all four games vs. VÀxjö this season, and the outlook for the remainder of the series certainly is not that bright for the Canuck draftee and his mates.

13:14 into the overtime period, Rahimi (who else...?!) was sent off for boarding, and 79 seconds later Johan Andersson netted the winner for VÀxjö.

In Russia, winger Sergei Shirokov scored his eighth power play goal of the season in CSKA's 3-1 win over Novokuznetsk.
With 16 goals and 17 assists in 47 games, Shirokov ranks second on his team in goals and points. He also has 36 PIM and a +4 rating.

In Nizhnekamsk's 3-2 win over Chelyabinsk, defensive prospect Denis Grot was a healthy scratch for the third time in the last five games.

Seems to have taken a penalty right out of Bulis' book. :(

Does that mean Rahimi's team was eliminated?

Not yet I don't think but it appears they will be very soon. Looking back to toxic's post about this it seems like Rahimi's team is in a four team playoffs for a final spot in the next round of the playoffs. Seeing as they lost the first game they don't have much of a chance of moving on to the next round. But I don't know the exact format/rules so this is just speculation.

On of the seconds is a conditional

Quote

The Vancouver Canucks jumped the deadline in acquiring former Canuck Brent Sopel from the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for a 2nd and 4th round draft pick.

In addition Vancouver added veteran centre Bryan Smolinski from the Chicago Blackhawks for a conditional 2nd round pick.

The Canucks, considered a cap team were, able to manouver these trades by finally placing injured forward Ryan Kesler on long term injury.

Sopel has four goals, 19 assists and is a plus-2 over his 44 games this season.

Smolinski has played in 62 games this season and scored 14 goals with 23 assists and is a plus-10.

Two Q's.

1. Does the Smolinski pick mean that it will be this year? Or in the coming years?

2. Where does the Sopel 4th come from?
