In addition Vancouver added veteran centre Bryan Smolinski from the Chicago Blackhawks for a conditional 2nd round pick.
The Canucks, considered a cap team were, able to manouver these trades by finally placing injured forward Ryan Kesler on long term injury.
Sopel has four goals, 19 assists and is a plus-2 over his 44 games this season.
Smolinski has played in 62 games this season and scored 14 goals with 23 assists and is a plus-10.

1. Does the Smolinski pick mean that it will be this year? Or in the coming years?
2. Where does the Sopel 4th come from?

Raymond and Grabner are more skilled for sure...
Only one of the 3 I've seen in a game is Simek of which was broadcast on shaw. He looked very talented out there. Only thing I can think of that he'd need to work on is possibly his defence. Hard to judge that much from 1 game though.

Nonis was on the PPV yesterday doing an interview during one of the periods. He was talking about the trade deadline saying how we would not risk the future ect ect. Said Bourdon is doing well, Grabby player of the week, and them went on to say the words "Cory next year".
My conclusion would be that Nonis hinted at that he would turn pro next year. Now, dont keep me wrong I think Cory will finish out his last in the NCAA. But, it is interesting that Nonis stated that.
