No points for either Hansen or Edler, but the Moose win again 3-0 agaist Pogge

Edler did pick up a boarding penalty though, I'm so proud

I like it.

I wonder if he's ever fought before, he looks so innocent.

i hope this is not a stupid question
but what should be our draft strategy?  should we draft the best player avaliable?  or draft the players that we need now?

for example, if a goalie is the best player when its our turn, do we draft the goalie (maybe later use him as trade bait) or pass on the goalie to get a forward?

Drafting a goalie would be stupid.

Well you have to adress your needs and we have no centres in the system so we really need a centre.

The talent level is pretty even for where we will be picking.

well, the player we draft this year might not even avaliable soon, and as soon as he is avaliable, the team might not even needs forward anymore (aka bourdon all over again)

Along the lines of filling needs, given the depth we have on our current roster and with our prospects at defense, what does everyone think of the possibility of swapping a defensive prospect for an offensive prospect? Grabner's been showing well, but he's still realistically a couple of years away. If we could aquire, say, a Robbie Schremp for a Luc Bourdon, would you do it?

Maybe that's a bad example, because of Schremp's supposed attitude problem, but: if we could acquire a young scoring forward prospect for a young defensive prospect, would you want us to?

I wouldn't mind that, because that way you would have a better idea of whether a player will turn out ok or not. But I'd be kinda scared to trade away our defensive prospects, because I don't think we're actually all that strong at defense. I mean right now Edler is the only one who I am above 90% sure will play in the NHL in the next couple of years. Bourdon could easily turn out to be a bust, none of us have ever seen Rahimi play so he could be a bust pretty easily too, and at this point I really can't see Koltsov playing for the Canucks next year.

But the Canucks will probably draft centers and forwards with their higher picks.

Just as someone observed that Grabner was a bit of a perimeter and transition player I noticed that Simek was doing the same in a TV game a couple of weeks ago. Haven't seen enough of him to have a good opinion tho. Not unusal behavior for Euros and coaching has to focus on developing an all around game.

Well Ellis is at it again, his stint up with the Moose a couple weeks ago has done wonders for him. He's starting to understand how to compete very well at a professional level. He made 37 saves in a 3-1 win last night.

Raymond had no points last night as they played Wisconsin the defending NCAA champions. Also, we'll know real soon if he plans on jumping to pro as UMD will be done by Mar 11th.

LMFAO.

Schremp sucks. Seriously, he is one of the most overrated prospects out their. Sure, he put up BIG #'s in the high scoring OHL. But look at his stats this year:

AHL 52Gp 13A 25Pts

and he was taken 25th Overall in the 2004 draft...

Hell, the Canucks Jannick Hansen who has taken freaking 287th OVEREALLin the 2004 draft has:

55Gp 9G 18A 27Pts

Not saying that Hansen will be a better player then Schremp, but come on....

The biggest late sleeper pick of the past few years seems to be Brett Sterling, he's tearing up the AHL making Schremp's 1st round pick even worse. Sterling(5th rounder) has 44 G 32 A for 76 pts.....College players seem to be coming more and more into their own the past few years. That's why I and other are getting so excited for Raymond.

Prospect games for Saturday!:

FYI, I'll start with NCAA kids because this is their last game of the Reg. NCAA season for THEM. Playoff's start next weekend, appearently Raymond's team does get to play in the Playoffs, yet they have a very poor record.

BC Dominates Third Ranked New Hampshire
by Christina Coleman/USCHO Arena Reporter

DURHAM, N.H. — The ninth ranked Boston College Eagles defeated No. 3 New Hampshire Friday Night, 4-1, spoiling Senior Night at the Whittemore Center. Boston College improved to 21-11-1, 17-8-1 in Hockey East while New Hampshire fell to 23-8-2, 18-6-2 in league play.

Nathan Gerbe scored twice for BC and goaltender Cory Schneider had 31 saves on the night. The scoring didn’t start until near the end of the first period. Boston College would start it off at 16:04 when junior Matt Greene scored off a Benn Ferriero rebound for his fourth goal of the season to make a 1-0 game.

UNH’s Jerry Pollastrone had the chance to score on a breakaway but Schneider made the save on the bid. BC would increase it’s lead to 2-0 when they were on the man advantage late in the first. Nathan Gerbe got his first goal of the night after goalie Kevin Regan faced a flurry of shots, but was unable to stop Gerbe’s. Brock Bradford and Brian Boyle were credited with the assists.

In the second period the Wildcats would try and dig themselves out of a two goal deficit. Junior Matt Fornataro would have his shot go off the post seven minutes into the period. Midway through the second frame Trevor Smith and Jerry Pollastrone would set up Chris Murray to score his eighth goal of the season and make it a one goal game. That would be the only goal scored in the period.

The third period had two goals scored, both empty nets by Boston College. New Hampshire called a timeout with 1:04 left and then decided to pull Regan. Just seven seconds later Gerbe would get his second of the game. Regan stayed on the bench and the face off returned to the Boston College end. BC won the faceoff and Ferriero would get the goal to seal the win and make it a 4-1 final.

“I thought the difference tonight was we got terrific goaltending from Cory Schneider and our special teams was successful. We had one goal and we killed a penalty late in the period. They had the puck really moving very well but we were in good passing lines and we had a great block from Mike Brennan,†said BC head coach Jerry York.

“Obviously we are disappointed with our loss and I thought we had our chances and it was a 2-1 hockey game and we obviously couldn’t get it tied up. Told the team at least we got back battling and if there’s any consolation to the game we take something positive out of it. We gotta get down there tomorrow and get a spilt,†UNH’s Dick Umile said.

The hockey east playoffs are beginning to shape up after some of tonight’s games. Last Saturday New Hampshire clinched the number one spot in the playoffs and with tonight’s win Boston College is now the number two seed.

Providence was able to receive the 8th spot after beating Merrimack 7-2. They will travel up to Durham to face UNH in a best of three game series next week. Boston College will host Northeastern in a three game series as well.

I think Schremp is overated, but at the same time his development has been stunted by playing with the Wike Bars. Edmonton and pits share the same minor league team, meaning it will be stacked with more talented youngsters. That leaves less room for error, and being Schremp's first season in the AHL, he's going to make mistakes. However, they won't let him continue to play, which is stupid because if he doesn't get time to play how is he ever supposed to develop? Glad am I happy that the Canucks were smart enough to get their own minor league affiliate, not like the stupid Oilers. Their prospects growth will be majorly stunted because Pits has a lot of young talent as well and they'll be too many players fighting for too little spots.

I'd be satisfied if he just became Luc Bourdon and not anyone else. He could be Salo, He could be Ohlund but I think his skating is superior to both just needs to learn the game and develop.

And Schremp is supposed to be in the minors to improve the defensive aspects of his game, not worry about scoring. He has the offensive flair of most 2 young players combined, but he really realllly needs to work on the defense.

1. The Jannik Hansen interview will not be available to anyone, if you want it you can read Part 1 on CDC, ill post the full typed out interview later

2. We do NOT have great defensive depth, other than Edler Rahimi and Bourdon there's really nobody, Koltsov wont be considered a prospect this off-season to me, and we have NOTHING on the right side of our defensive depth chart. Fredheim can be a good, but its too early. And for the record, Patrick Coulombe is a fringe prospect right now
QUOTE (Dave Chappelle)You know why my show is good? Because the network officials say you're not smart enough to get what I'm doing, and every day I fight for you. I tell them how smart you are. Turns out, I was wrong. You people are stupid.

Meaning the audio will not be available? I'm assuming this isn't a case of you not being willing to share but rather restrictions put upon by CDC?
