Yeah, I really hope Heshka can become a capable d-man. It would be great to see him play for the big team.

In todays Moose win, Nathan Smith had 2 goals and an assist...

Former Moose Josh Green will be out of the Canucks lineup with a knee injury for the next four to six weeks. [b]Moose centre Nathan Smith might be in line for a recall.

Ya, I've heard that also. I do believe that JJ may be getting a 2-way deal "in the works", I wouldn't be surprised to see him up with the big club before the end of the year.

Don't be too quick to judge him based on +/-. He has been +4 in the new year and currently stands with 12 points in 11 games. Put simply he has been on fire as of late. It is a longshot but Smith does have a chance of being called up.

Wasn't he playing on a line with Brandon Reid though? I'm sure at least -10 of that comes from Brandon's supernatural strength along the boards.
Come on though, is Smith really an upgrade on Santala? I don't think so! Ain't gonna happen.

I believe Reid was a scratch tonight... correct me if I'm wrong. But that means Smith got 2 goals and an assist without him. Maybe separating him from Reid was what the doctor ordered!

The only words out of this exchange that stuck were "Reid" "Butt" and "Scratch"

Danielsson still waiting for breakthrough
Despite an admirable effort during the stretch drive, Nicklas Danielsson’s team Djurgarden missed the SEL playoffs, bringing a disappointing season for the Canuck draftee to a premature end. With a record of 22-22-11, Djurgarden finished in tenth place in the final regular season standings, just two points behind the last playoff spot, but also just three points clear of the relegation round against the top minor league teams.
After a promising 05-06 season in the minors with Almtuna, Danielsson transferred to Djurgarden during the summer and had high hopes to finally establish himself in Sweden’s top league. But after his fourth season at the highest level of Swedish hockey (he played for Brynäs from ’02 – ’05), it looks like the speedy winger has to live with the reputation of being too good for the minors but too weak for the big league.
Danielsson finished the 06-07 campaign with a total of six goals (three on the power play) and five assists in 50 games, which ranked him 14th on his team’s scoring chart. He also spent 30 minutes in the sin bin and had a +/- rating of -4.
He was a regular on Djurgarden’s third and fourth line, and on the few occasions he was given the opportunity to play on one of the top two lines, he did nothing to impress the coaching staff.
After a miserable preseason, Danielsson opened the regular season with just one goal in the first 15 games, before putting together a three-game point streak at the end of October, his longest of the season.
He then disappeared for the next nine games, before collecting three goals and an assist over a five-game span in the first half of December. But that was the only time Danielsson had some momentum going, and he recorded just two more points in the remaining 19 games of the season.
Because of his blazing speed, good shot and scoring touch, Danielsson was a feared sniper at the junior and minor league level, but he struggles to get those qualities through at the top level. At age 22, there still is some hope for him to get his act together, but there won’t be many more chances, especially if he has some aspirations to play in North America one day.

This is true. In the new CBA, teams are only allowed call up a certain amount of players after the trade deadline. I heard Edmonton has are used up their call ups.

Thanks chiklets
