Have you came across Adam Larsson yet? He is playing in the SEL as a 16 year old like Hedman did. He has already gotten more points than him in 31 less games played.

Yeah, I saw him the WJHC camp invite roster, (I think that was it) noticed his birth year and looked him up. Definitely a player to keep an eye on for sure for the 2011 draft.

Anyone interested in Adam Larsson, check out these threads on HFBoards:

"The Adam Larsson Hype Thread" ( http://hfboards.com/...ad.php?t=600714 )

"Adam Larsson to be better than Hedman" ( http://hfboards.com/...ad.php?t=681110 )

"Swedish prospect update 09/10" ( http://hfboards.com/...t=675940&page=8 )

Don't generally like to promote HFBoards too much over here but there's a pretty decent discussion of this kid going on over there so I hope nobody minds me adding the links.

You might want to redo those links. :)

Really weird, they were fine and then I went to edit one letter in my post and the links went wonky and I had to redo the entire post. Must be one of the bugs with the new board format changeover.

Even my reply ^ ^ ^ has weird extra code tags. All I did was click "reply" and type a normal post.

Yeah, I have noticed that too. It should be fixed soon.

Funk Update:

Quote

Season stats: 16 GP, 1 G, 6 A

Quote

Things have been rough on the Manitoba Moose this season. All the injuries to the Canucks has meant a lot of players, especially forwards, have been called up from the AHL franchise, leaving the team in dire need of scoring.

Michael Funk has been able to help fill that void so far pulling double duty as a defenceman and a sniper. Funk is tied for third in team scoring through 16 games with a goal and six assists; the 23-year-old Abbotsford native leads the team in helpers and is certainly making the most of a second chance to shine. Last season was a write-off for Funk as a pair of concussions limited his season to just 13 games. That’s all behind him now and the Moose are lucky to have him. For now.

Clark Update:

Quote

Season stats: 7-4-0-1, 3.31 GAA, .894 S%

Quote

The month of October was prosperous for many Canucks prospects, but none more than goaltender Morgan Clark. The 19-year-old Texas product and son of Canucks goaltending consultant Ian Clark, went 5-2-1 in nine starts with the WHL’s Swift Current Broncos last month, he was especially clutch in allowing two goals or less in three straight wins over Kamloops, Saskatoon and Regina.

Morgan now sports a 7-4-1 record on the season with a 3.31 goals against average and .894 save percentage, the latter being a personal best. This is Morgan’s fifth season in the WHL and second with the Broncos and he’s already just three wins off his career high of 10 from 2007-08 with Red Deer. Swift Current will go as far as their netminder will carry them and right now, that is a promising position to be in.

The much-improved Merrimack College Warriors have also enjoyed some early-season success thanks in part to sophomore goaltender Joe Cannata (VAN) and rookie defenseman Kyle Bigos (EDM). Cannata has been able to build on his successful rookie season. He has appeared in four games, posting a 2-2-0 record. His most memorable game came on Oct. 23 when he posted a 25-save performance to backstop the Warriors to a 5-2 win over Vermont.

Do we not have a Rodin thread?

Odd.

In any case, from farhandevji's twitter:

Rodin may not finish the season in the Swedish Elite League.

It's supposed to be a teaser for an article that is going to be on Canucks.com tomorrow. Could just be saying that he might be sent out on loan to a team in the second division in Sweden, but if it isn't...... :D :D :D :D :D :D

I am not sure if this has been posted before.

From Farhan Devji's Blog

Quote

I was able to catch up with Patrick White briefly earlier today, after he was traded to the San Jose Sharks along with Daniel Rahimi in exchange for Christian Ehrhoff and Brad Lukowich. Here's some of his reaction to the trade:

1. Were you surprised when you heard about the move?
White: Yeah I was. I talked to Dave Gagner today before he even knew about it so I was under the impression things were normal. I think it should be good for me and good for Vancouver though.

2. I know the Vancouver fans and media were pretty hard on you over the last few years.
White: I can't blame anyone for that; that's the life of hockey. Even when you play good sometimes you don't get credit.

3. How did you hear the news? Did Gillis call?
White: Yeah, he called but I missed it and so my adviser was the first to let me know. Gillis is tough to get back to; he’s a busy man.

4. Have you talked to Jordan Schroeder at all?
White: No I haven't. I'll probably see him tomorrow though.

5. Thanks a lot, Patrick. Good luck next season and in the future with the Sharks organization.
White: Thanks. I will always be a Canucks draft pick.
