OK, the regular season is winding down for the Spokane Chiefs and Grabner. Here's a look at their remaining games for this season. I've also included Grabby's stats against the teams.

It looks as if the Chiefs will be playing Everett in the 1st round of the playoffs and Irving seems to have Grabby's number.

After talking with Grabby during the Chiefs Booster Club End of Year Party, Grabby is looking to make an impact in the playoffs. Will keep you up to date as best I can.

3/6 vs Everett (7GP, 4G (1 hat trick), 2A)
3/9 vs Tri City (8GP, 6G, 4A)
3/10 vs Kootenay (3GP, 2G, 1A)
3/14 at Chilliwack (3GP, 0G, 1A)
3/17 at Tri City (see above)
3/18 at Portland (6GP, 8G (1 hat trick), 2A)

Stats to date: 52GP, 39G, 14A

I guess the bright side of that is, we might get to see Grabby sooner since he can play with the big club when his team is eliminated from the playoffs.

He's not coming to the big club for the playoffs. You can quote me on that
If he does I'll do something like make a sig saying "Grabner's female dog"

Yes, we sat at the same table during the party.
http://i130.photobuc...7/P30400111.jpg

He's looking forward to the playoffs. Said during the summer he's going to workout and try to put on weight. He has confidence that he'll be playing for the Canucks next year if not the one after that.

Said he's been trying too hard and just needs to get back to the basics. Says he needs to just relax and let things happen as they will. He says getting stoned on the breakaways gets him frustrated and he tends to try too hard the next time. I told him that when he gets stoned just to breath.

http://i130.photobuc.../chiefs_236.jpg
This booster club member was lucky enough to win his draft jersey (replica though). I wanted that. :D

http://i130.photobuc.../chiefs_183.jpg
This is Grabby getting his hat trick awards. He has one more hat trick to get to tie the all time record of hat tricks in a season for a Chief. Ray Whitney has that record at 6 hat tricks. Grabby said that he thinks he can get another before the season is over. But he's just trying now to score to help the team win.

I told him about everyone one this forum and the other Canucks forum keeping track of him and stuff like that. He said that he appreciates people watching out for their team and looking closely at the prospects. He wants to make a good impression and play his best every game.

I asked him about Simek and told him how everyone there watched the two of them when the Chiefs were in Brandon. He said that he looks forward to playing on the same team as Simek, said he's a really good player.

When he plays for the Canucks he would like to wear #17 but said there was already a player with the number. He said the number he wore at camp (40) is a good number also.

I asked him about playing for Manitoba next year but he said his plans are to play for the Canucks. But he would be happy in Manitoba is that was were he was sent, the experience and growth would be great.

He talked about how there are some things he has to work on before making the NHL level and plans to work on it all. Said he knows the d side of his game is off but he hopes he can help with his offensive skills. The d side will be something he'll work on.

Then we basically talked about this season and the playoffs. Sounds like the boys don't really care who they get in the first round. They're just going to come out and play hard each game.

I love how he seems so confident and motivated to play with Vancouver next season. It makes me confident and excited about his debut. :D

... You should have warned him about the curse of the "#17" though. XD;
