On the ice or in the classroom, the University of Minnesota Duluth sophomore class is equally accomplished.
Of the 10 second-year players on the 2006-07 Bulldog roster, seven have earned Western Collegiate Hockey Association All-Academic Team recognition. To qualify for this honor a student-athlete must have completed at least one year of residency at his present insitution prior to the current academic year and have a grade point average of at least a 3.00 (on a 4.00 scale) for the previous two semesters/three quarters. A total of 88 WCHA players representing all 10 league institutions were named to this year's team.
The seven Bulldogs include wingers Andrew Carroll (physical education-Shoreview, Minn.), Michael Gergen (business-Hastings, Minn.), Matt Greer (physical education-Vadnais Heights, Minn.) and Mason Raymond (communication-Cochrane, Alberta), center MacGregor Sharp (business-Red Deer, Alberta) and defensemen Jason Garrison (exercise science-White Rock, British Columbia) and Matt Niskanen (physical education-Mountain Iron, Minn.).

Game's over
BC wins 7-1
Cory did not play for the final 10 min. I don't believe he was injured, maybe just wanted to give him some rest....
UMD is leading 2-1

He did get one assist on the last goal of the game late in the third....
Looks like Mario Bliznak is back in the lineup for the Giants.
