Wait. People are gonna pay $500 US for a phone with 4GB capabilities while they could just buy a phone and an iPod nano (or similar non Apple device if they like quality of brand name) for the same price (or less)?

Go go consumerism.

I agree. But I wouldn't even by an iPod, my free phone (with plan) and $30 MP3 player have always been just fine, and I don't see why they won't always be. Same goes for my N64!

And here I thought getting the same thing but in a smaller and more convinient package was a good thing, and for relatively the same price. BTW iPod Nano doesn't play video, and has a smaller screen, which the iPhone can do (iThink).

I'd get one, but I have an iPod and I like my free phones.

I doubt it would work up here, but I'm sure the music/video, Wi-Fi internet capabilities still would. But, until they can get the proper networking for the actual phone to work in Canada, no it wouldn't work as a cell phone. This is the reason behind the long wait for Canada. Because, I believe the iPhone is made to run in a CDMA network (US), whereas in Canada...we don't use the same network.

Wrong. The iPhone is a Quad-Band GSM Phone that, if unlocked, will work with Rogers or Fido (or any GSM carrier for that matter).

However Nokia n95 > iPhone, imho.

Smaller and more convenient?

Kind of like your penis?

All joking aside, if you're willing to pay hundreds of dollars for the "convenience" of not having a phone and an iPod in your pockets, you really should look at how tight your pants are because you may be a homosexual or a woman.

In which case, you should buy this phone because it would go well with the other irrational things you people do.

Anyhow...whatever it may be...it's not expected in Canada until late 2007-early 2008. So there's plenty of time for the word to get around and prices should drop in that time. For the ordinary person, you really don't need this phone...unless you want to show it off. The reason to get one though is...ok now I don't have to carry my cell/iPod and laptop with me everywhere I go. To some places, just taking the iPhone will be enough and that is convenient. Sure it is pricy, but whatever, quality isn't free.

It is not a need it is a want, a need is something you cannot live without.

I hope no one intends to buy the iPhone for use on the Rogers network until it's released here.

Apparently the iPhone will be locked on the AT&T network and will not work if the original SIM card is removed. According to some reports, the SIM card may not even be removable.

well the thing is, most people like me and yourself already has a cellphone AND/OR a MP3 Player. It makes no sense to pay $500US that simply have both function

No it won't cost $3000 in Canada.

And I agree with someone saying you don't need this. You want this but you don't really need this.
