For sure, They are pretty ruthless hunters, its not like they are herbivores... they do some mean crap to animals.... like seals they will swim at full-tilt from underneather and launch the things into the air then catch them... they also swim around fish flashing thier underbellies to confuse them then whack them with their tails to stun them, from there its a nice meal of stunned fish.... So this is GOOD representation of what we want to do to the other teams

You sure this couldn't be used for our practice jerseys or somethin? Because they're just blue and white, at least our vintage practice jerseys are.

No doubt about it!

no discredit to your photoshopping but man....im starting to hate that logo more and more.

I mean the old maroon and blue 3rds were sharper and nicer looking then anything that logo will get slapped on

This logo looks a lot more slicker and has a more classic feel to it then the orignal because of the simple blue/silver color design. I am impressed and with the streamlined jerseys this should be a beaut.

A+

I really hope there is a slick new jersey to put this logo on, otherwise it will have almost ZERO staying power, and people will be demanding that we change the logo again next season.

There's minimalism and then there's bland...

Vintage logo was great, it was simple but had a lot of elements going on for it.

You've got it the wrong way.

If there's one logo where we had a lot of elements fused into it: it's the orca.

Minimalism & bland describes the very logo you are rooting for: the stick & rink.

The colors are what makes that logo.

Seems like they've decided to take whats good about the vintage --the colors-- and incorporate it into the current logo.

It also seems like they've decided to stop this team's trend for discarding logos by finally sticking to one.

And if you look closely, the leaked photos show they've managed to make the old orca less busy by removing the red trim.

Hence why you described it as 'minimalism'.

They've managed to give it simplicity without making it stick-&-rink simple.

Ditto. I've no problem with vintage, I just see it as it is.

Enough with the drastic changes, we've had too many.

i think you got the minimalism and bland comparisons backwards

Agreed.

why do people think the blue on the orca is ice?

its water people

Because water doesn't break up into shards of triangular glass when an orca breaks out of it.

Because water wouldn't leave thin zigzagging straight-line trails behind a skater: ice does.

Because our old logo had a rink, not a pool.

Agreed, I don't really love the vintage logo, it's the colours that I love.

I like the orca as a logo better, so combining the two elements is the best possible scenario, IMO.

I'm praying for green on the jersey and a jersey without tons of unneccessary piping.

Finally my username # has some meaning.

according to one poster here the shoulder patch is going ot be something that isnt vintage or and old Canuck logos so I am thinking they will go way back the way Bruins did with their shoulder patches.

Also, another poster here "sushi" said there wil be writing on the jerseys so factoring in these two claims I came up with that conclusion.

It will most likely be modified to look a little more modern.

it could very well be argued either way.

honestly the "shards" could be splashes of water but due to the artistic style of the logo they were made into triangles. also (not to sure here because I have never actually seen an orca whale) but I dont think they jump through ice.

also as far as I know there isnt much in terms of ice on the pacific near Vancouver.

please correct me if im wrong on any of this, I have always just thought that it was water the orca was jumping out of

No I didn't mix it up, the orca isn't a minimalist design. It's got a lot of meaning to it as it infuses local heritage and symbols together but it doesn't go out of its way to keep it super simple. The vintage logo, to me, is one of the best examples in the league of a very simple logo that still makes a statement.

The colours don't make the logo, they only serve to enhance it. Me, I'd take the orca logo for another ten years, I have no problem with it, but just removing all the other colours from it doesn't strike me as a step forward. Besides, the orca logo fits well with the current colour scheme, not so much with the blue and green. I mean really, green? with a whale logo? blech

first of all i wouldnt buy into some random dudes words, unless he/she was a reliable source and "sushi" doesnt sound very reliable.
