I was wondering what u guys think about giving Zach Parise an offer sheet for 3.5mill 2yr

last year he had 31G 31A 62PT -3 and made 703,000?

also plays LW

He would be a great fit on a line of Parise Morrision Naslund

Devils wouldn't let him go after the season he had with Zajac.

you would need to offer at least $5 million per season to have any chance to take him from NJ.

and then you need to give up 4 1st round picks - offer sheets are not the way to build a successful team. period.

After what Penner just got offered, what would make your tiny pea-sized brain think this would work?

Try 5 years, $25-30M.
If you are reading this then there is a very good chance you have no clue about hockey.

It's hard to believe that New Jersey would lose their top prospect after everything they have lost already

What makes you think that he’s worth 3.5 after Penner got 4.3 and Parise had better statistics?

well its really up to the player and his agent if they want to sign an offer sheet
im sure if you shoved a 4 year deal worth 18 million, parise would sign it.
look what he is making right now

If he's worth 3.5 million, then why not sign him, but I think he's going to want about 5 million per season.

Even if he agreed to that offer, it would be matched and therefore pointless to make.

Only way Nonis is ever forced into the undesireable position of having to poach RFA's is if this team is moved to Alaska...or worse...Edmonton.

We're pretty much where I'd thought we'd be - out of the playoffs and no Demitra in the lineup. Coming in to this season anyone with a brain would be able to recognize that this isn't a playoff team, and they're performing just as I suspected they would.

They are trying to sign Parise LONG TERM for around 3.5-4M a season (a la Horton)

They would easily match a 3.5M offer sheet, they have lots of room with the departures of Gomez and Rafalski for (much) greener pastures.

You have to GROSSLY overpay to have a chance at getting the RFA.

we cant afford an offer sheet any amount we offer will be matched all it will do is give Nonis a blackeye on his resume nobody will ant to help you out later in a trade or something friendship plays a role in all of this as well if you pay attention you can see the patterns.

Parise is awesome. But I hope NJ resigns him, so I atleast have one favourite player to watch when they visit GM Place.

Wait... I totally forgot about Gionta. I thought he got traded for some reason.

If nonis wasn't a friend of Burke, I would have wished to get Perry or Getzlaf. There is no way Burke can extend their contracts this year unless he gets rid of even more salary after the fact that selannee and Nieds are gone.
I don't talk about it, I be about it!

Devils would have laughed and easily matched that offer sheet that is if Parise even signed it.
