I have always liked the Killer Whale / Orca the best. Some points to consider about Orca's....

1. They do SCREAM west coast and British Columbia very well. It's a popular perception even here in Ontario where I live.
2. They are the LARGEST of the oceanic dolphin family.
3. Orca's are OPPORTUNISTIC and VERSATILE PREDATORS. (A large reason they are my favorite marine animal)
4. The Orca's large size and STRENGTH make them the FASTEST marine animals, often reaching speeds over 56 km/h. (Wikipedia)
5. The largest concentration of orca's in the world reside off the coast of British Columbia.
6. They are sometimes called the WOLVES of the sea because they hunt in PACKS like wolves. A TEAM concept.
7. Orca's FEAR NOTHING. They will attack adult whales, sharks and even polar bears on occasion.
8. They are UNBELIEVABLY SMART teachers and predators. See this link for more details if you like. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orca

Well said! Actually learned about the Orca. Thats why the Orca should stay. ;)

So much for looking the same during playoff time (if we make it there, of course). With another jersey in the mix, the crowds will look great in April....haha lol.

Long live the Orca, I hope the new jersey is great. And that management didn't have a change of heart due to the resent negative comments.

Too much spam and off-topic discussions.

And they closed it? That could happen again. Are they gonna keep closing them and making new ones? Kinda pointless I think.

I have a gut feeling the new jersey's will be bad, especially after Noni's interview earlier today.

Didn't you see the previous posts. So many people asked that question. It was because of too much spamming!

No, whoever spams is going to lose their post count I think. Thats what StalthNuck said on the 1st page.

Interesting post.

Specially the part about popular perceptions regarding BC & Orcas as seen from the rest of the provinces.

Well, there was countless off-topic discussions going on at the same time. Like, who could reach a certain post count higher.. and just lots of spam. Shouldn't happen again unless someone decides to start up again. :P

I am pretty much down for anything as long as its retro
and I know that the orca is staying...
I really like the jersey that Linden's wearing in the sun and would love something like that or somewhat like it.

there are like 3 different shades of green

the orca logo green is most like the vintage jersey, although still too dark

vintage colours are kelly green and royal blue

It's funny how the last thread consisted mostly of spam posts going "When is the press conference?" or "When are they being released?" while this thread consists mainly of spam asking "What happened to the other thread?".

Of course there was more junk in the other thread too, but I still find the situation amusing.

That's because either people don't read the first page of the thread, or have a hard time reading the first page of the thread. :P

Some people actually know what happened to the other thread but they just ask what happened to it so they can get their post count up.

That's true. But I don't care about those teams. I'm a Canucks fan, and I think the Orca logo is ugly, stupid and has had it's run. It should be harpooned and sent out to sea for good!

AMEN to that!

seriously... couldn't they have a fan vote? or a season ticket holders vote?? something... anything...

that way, if the stupid orca was chosen, then i could live with it...

but c'mon... the orca? no matter how much meaning u can put into that logo... how it represents BC, the city... blah blah blah.... it STILL sucks no matter what kind of spin you put behind that ugly bloody thing

Didn't another franchise have the same thing? Where fans voted for their new logo or something? I think it was Buffalo.. I'm not entirely sure though.
