Well, I just point out the lack of green around the logo because the crest in the cellphone pics had a green border. The hat doesn't. Of course, the green border could be exclusive to the jerseys but for me this sorta seems to discredit the cellphone picture a bit.

But, like I said, maybe the logo has a green border on the real thing and won't for other marketing purposes... kinda like the triangle behind Nashville's logo on their new away jerseys.

Yeah, I've thought all along that the green would be just part of the jersey, and not the actual logo. But I do find it odd how little green there is on the hat.

The "cellphone leak" is crap. It's just somebody's photoshop job over the new Capitals base design. If you saw when the Caps jerseys first leaked, the way the jersey hung, the folds and wrinkles are exactly the same as the "cellphone leak" Somebody just went and put on a Canucks logo and color scheme and tons of people have bought it hook line and sinker. That's not what the jerseys will look like at all.

At this point, and with the pic of that hat taken into consideration, I think the first "legit"-looking cellphone pic is the most likely. I mean, you're right -- the other one is based straight off the Capitals design. This new hat picture pretty much confirms this:

Yep, that picture seemed pretty official when it was first released and when I saw the hat that's the first thing that I thought of as well. Slowly thanks to the process of elimination we're getting to the bottom of this.

the problem is that the canucks have hats of many varietys. Ive seen camo hats & logos, pink hats & logo's, black hats with the logo black as well as white hats with white logos. What does this mean? it means they're trying to make as much money as possible. This could just be like any of those other hats. Although I do admit it's very similar to the 'leaked' photo

Agreed, I'm leaning towards that being the real logo but it looks like he is in a hat store because you can see the security tag and the other hats, They have made tons of other style hats in diffrent colours, I have one thats all black trucker style fitted hat with a blue and white logo and its from like 2 seasons ago

You can't copyright them because the "Canucks", Canucks logos, NHL logo, Rbk are registered trademarks of the Vancouver Canucks, Orca Bay Sports and Entertainment, NHL, and Adidas.

The Canucks can sue you.

Just a pet peeve of mine seeing people using "copyright" incorrectly and just think you can copyright anything.

regardless the word "canucks ANYWHERE larger then a pea on the front of the jersey is stupid beyond belief. If they have another gay azz uniform that makes us a laughing stock with big old stupid "Canucks" and "Vancouver" as has been written splashed across the front, I will personally walk up and kick the ballz in of whoever ends up owning the team...that's a FACT...

i think that's pretty close to confirming the new logo, even if hats change colours and schemes it's not likely to see the logo itself actually changed on licensed merchandise

I was surfing the site and took these screen shots in the c-force section. These screen shots are from the flash intro to the c-force portion of the site. Take it with a grain of salt, but who knows right? (BSR is a watermark for the program I used to take the screen shot with)
