The jerseys have grown on me a little bit, but I'm still not a huge fan of the Buffaslug itself

i think the jersey scheme is good. but the logo itself isn't all that great.

If you look at the "action" list, you'll notice that the last time this logo was updated was 2004. So this is not new.

Doesn't that make you think that all this talk from Nonis and Zimmerman about "patent and copyright issues causing over $1m in redesign" was a bunch of smoke being blown up our backsides?

I find the whole secrecy and circus surrounding the new jerseys really perplexing. It seems to me like they're trying to create some kind of launch "buzz" around the jerseys. And they don't have to.

With the market in Vancouver so voracious for anything to do with the Canucks, the team would not have to do ANYTHING to promote this team. They don't have to promote tickets or games or pay-per-view, because the fans are so dialed-in and hockey-mad.

They could have released the jerseys in July with ZERO launch and still would have sold out every jersey west of the Rockies.

So - my suspicion is that they tried to redesign the jerseys and something got f**ked up - very, very badly. And all this nonsense from Nonis and Zimmerman and others is just to cover up a huge set of mistakes.

This is the first theory that actually makes sense. I've been thinking that for a while....They ****ed up somewhere along the way and it cost them a million to fix it! Its true that you DONT have to create hype in this city. I think they ****ed up something big time and they've been scrambling to fix it so it doesn't look absolutely awful.

Um, why is it that the dates on those orca symbols coincide with what we did BACK THEN.

anything new would have a 2007 date on it... not 2004.

those (I'm pretty sure) are the original orca details.

Dude, that's Bryan Smolinski. The pictures are from last season. There's no ice at GM Place yet, they're practicing at 8 Rinks which has no seating.

So would it be funny if the new uniforms turned out to be exactly the same. All we really know is that with the RBK style that we have new uniforms and that the orca will still remain.

Actually, they play on the Blue A rink, which has the entire catwalk above the ice on one side people can stand, and there are some benches up there.

Despite me not liking the logo, I'm probably going to get a Buffaslug jersey with Thomas Vanek's name and number on it, since he's one of my favorite players. I'm one of the few who are only "meh" about the Sabres vintage.
