You'll notice from this magazine scan that the goalie is wearing the new Oilers jersey, but also of note is the fact that there's Canuck fans in the stands, which means the player shooting in the royal blue jersey is most likely a Canuck wearing the new uniform. Doesn't really show anything new, as it was well known that a somewhat vintage colour scheme would be used.

(Note, I do not believe it to simply be the vintage jersey because the white Rbk patch above the namebar is something that has not been present in NHL 08 screenshots of the vintage jersey. In addition, every other team in that scan is wearing a jersey that hasn't been unveiled yet, it's only logical that the Canucks would also be wearing their new threads).

Why is the shot cropped like that? What magazine is this? Does anyone have a better shot?

I don't know what magazine that's in, but someone needs to take a pic of the whole page, that way we can see the entire screenshot.

I posted this earlier but I'm told (by someone I trust, my brother-in-law) that he can get me the jersey on or around September 2nd. He works for the company that will actually be manufacturing them.

I asked him about this back in June and he said he'd try and check it out. I guess they had 4 jerseys drawn up. One had the word Canucks writen in a stylized form on the front and the "whale leaping out of the C" logo on the shoulders. One had a whale leaping out of the letter V and the word VANCOUVER along the bottom, a'la Los Angeles Kings jerseys, one looked to him to be the current uniform but with the new RBK striping and cut and one was a re-stylized version of the current "whale leaping out of the C". He says they choose one and thats what the company is manufacturing now.

Now he's not a hockey fan and also isn't hell-bent on getting fired either so there are no photos' or photoshops kicking around that I can email anyone or link up here. You know, I tried to dig a little deeper and he said it was "blue-ish" he doesn't have one at his desk or house so its not like he can take a picture. He did say that he can get me an actual jersey soon as they are doing them now.

He was told the release date is September 14th. Whether that is the date they go on sale or the date they get shown to us all in some kind of press conference, who knows.

At the very least we'll have a photo on Septemeber 2nd.
Where we got the (lame) idea for our jerseys..................1 million dollars down the drain

I think the Islanders, Panthers, and Predators new jerseys look like practice jerseys.

Attachment capnCANUCKS2.jpg Courtesy of the Victoria Times - At the Canucks State of the Franchise, Chris Zimmerman described the new logo as an evolution from the old logo and that the Orca was still going to be a part of it. He also mentioned that he didn't want to seem like the logo change was a money grab. Those statements suggest that the change wasn't going to be a major one, but perhaps more of a change to fit the new, form-fitting RBK jerseys.

This logo - real or not - fits this description.

If this is the new logo, I like it. While the Orca remains the primary mark, it's a much simpler Orca. I like the blue and silver - the Canucks have already changed their website to these colors - and I can certainly see how it will look on the RBK jerseys. In all honesty, I was hoping that they would go back to the vintage stick and rink jersey, but overall this isn't a bad change.

that logo looks really nice ;)

Looks vintage to me. I would imagine that last years jersey's are still in the game, and they would throw rbk on any and all jersey's in the game.

Also note the old home and away jersey are also present but only a home vintage in the crowd is present and not an away (because we didnt have an away last year, only home because it was our 3rd jersey).

Take it for what it's worth but I just got a phone call from a buddy that works for EA and he phoned to say that he has seen the jerseys in the NHL game and that they are exactly the same as one of the pics that I sent him from here. I can't remember which one he is referring to, so I'm looking it up right now, but it was definitely from here and he said it's the same as he saw in the game. Apparently they screwed up and the new jerseys weren't locked like they were supposed to be. He said there is no green at all and that it is a light blue orca logo.

I'm not sure which pic I sent him, but my point is that there's a good chance we've seen the new jerseys. Sounds like the color scheme is light blue (vintage blue) with a bit of grey and white.
