Isn't it strange that we are the only Canadian team that changes their logo time and time again. We are also the only Cdn team NOT to win the cup. Do you think there is a connection?

Leafs, Oilers, Habs...they are iconic. The flames only slightly change theirs, only one win but a dominating team for many years. The same goes for the Rangers, Flyers, Wings etc. Even the Pens when to the cup winning colours. No mention of the original baby blue or robo-penguin there.

As Canucks we have had 2 visits. One was in those horrible flying V jerseys. They were voted one of the ugliest jerseys ever YET they still sell well. I own one myself! The only one that does not sell well in that horrible yellow jesrey from around 86....AND WE SUCKED MISERABLY!

I think the logo/jersey becomes iconic when the team becomes great, so until the nucks actually win the cup, we will be floating in Logo Limbo.

You got it. If the Canucks win a cup with the orca logo, no one will ever want to change it.

The "actually" new jerseys?

Wow. Hate to be a stickler for grammar, but you, sir, know nothing of the English language. Go get your Star Wars lunchbox and your "Radically Canadian" baseball cap and go home.

dude. I am with you. I am so sick of having an rediculous looking jersey. I love this team so much - and haven't bought a any team merch in 10 years. I truly truly hate our logo. I think if I was like 12 it would be cool. but at 29 I don't want to look like a total tool.

Perhaps its not because of your jersey that people think your a tool.... Also Perhaps at 29 you should be less concerned with what other people think... Are you going to get beat up at lunch time?

LOL, I was just about to say "Because Ottawa isnt part of canada....."

As for the logo/jersey being iconic because of the great team... well... Ever hear of the book/movie trainspotting??? Because the way i see it, those same jerseys will face the "sickboy Syndrome" Greats who HAD it and LOST it..... The habs WERE great but are tarnishing thier former glory... the leafs havent won since 67, the oilers are going nowhere fast... Perhaps all thse FORMER greats should change thier ICONIC jerseys so they dont sully them anymore then!?

I haven't posted in this thread yet, but I personnally think the Canucks colors, if they are changing, should be like the Indianapolis Colts of the NFL. It would look awesome with the new jersey's and the current Orca logo.

Just my 2 cents.

I have a question...

What is the difference between the Authentic jersey ($330) and the Premium jersey ($160)?

The authentic jersey will be the same thing the players will wear on the ice. It'll have the tie-down at the back. The logos will be better quality, the material will probably be thicker and more durable than the replica (premium) and they'll also fit a bit bigger so if the replica jerseys end up being too tight due to the new cut, you could opt for the authentic to get a better fitting jersey.

The Authentic are the ones the players wear (Fight strap, and I don't know the other features).

Okay thanks. Is it worth the extra money to get the Authentic rather than the Premium?

Also, if TicketMaster does in fact cancel some tickets (which I doubt it and hope not) if I have printed my tickets already, can they still make them unvalid?

Well, I haven't seen the new jerseys and don't know how they compare to the old ones in terms of the difference between replica and authentic, but from somebody who owns both, I love my authentic jersey way more than any of my replica ones. The logo by itself is better. I don't know how the new jerseys do it, but with the old ones, the replica jerseys simply had glued on shoulder patches and logo, whereas the authentic one was sewn on. I liked the fact that the thicker material makes it harder to snag and will keep the jersey looking it's best longer than a replica. Plus, the advantage of the sewn on numbers (mind you, you can still get sewn on numbers for the replicas if you're willing to wait for them) means it's easier to wash in the washing machine (the sewn on logos and patches also assist in that as well.) IMO, if you can afford the authentic, it's totally worth it.

Okay thanks a lot. Great post as far as answering my question. Thanks.

I was reading the description fo the new replica jerseys and it says that the logo and shoulder patches will all be stitched sewn on this time around.

Not so sure about the difference between the fabric will be though.

Well even if that is true. There must be something that makes it significantly better because it is more than double the price.

But I think the Premium (replica) will be good enough for fans to purchase. They will look basically the same so it shouldn't make a difference if you buy a premium or authentic. I will look to see for myself to see if there is an obvious difference and I agree with JovoFan that if you can afford a authentic one, go for it. But premium ones are just fine.

the authentics are gorgeous, but i'd go with a replica.

the only visible difference is a bit of stitching and a fight strap.
