Fair enough.

But come Weds, you'll see a jersey with horizontal striping along the bottom, mark my words. ;)

honestly....I hope you're right. I really like the horizontal striping on the bottom. do any of the new uniforms that have been released have horizontal striping?

Yep. Boston, New York, Detroit. Now, there have been rumours that Rbk was only giving Original Six teams permission to use horizontal stripes, however, that leaked picture of San Jose's jersey clearly show they've incorporated them as well and I know for fact the Canucks will have them.

I think the horizontal striping is more a question of how many teams stuck to their guns and went with their own designs instead of just toying with the Rbk template... and by that token, how many teams went for a REAL hockey design instead of something that they thought looked "kewl".

And good on them.

ya i just went and looked and noticed that too. I thought the same thing, only original six teams have significant horizontal striping on the bottom of their uni's. may i ask, how do you know for a fact?

dark jerseys give a psychological impression of dominance over light jerseys. i don't care if some light jerseys look better than their counterparts, that's fact. white is what you have with all colour REMOVED. black is what you have when all colour is PRESENT. light jerseys should, obviously, should reflect this impression because our team has been removed from its home. dark jerseys should be using the dominating impression we get from dark colours (black meaning everything is PRESENT) to show that we are symbolically present in our home stadium. whether you buy that sort of thing or not doesn't matter, and if that's not basically reason enough, there are plenty of other reasons to have dark as home jerseys. 99% of your jersey being white does not overly show your team colours or stand you out particularly in a crowd. even if your dark jersey isnt black, the dark jerseys display team colours much more effectively, unless im much mistaken that one of the nhl teams has white as it's primary colour? but that would be pretty boring i guess. and if you don't think coloured jerseys stand out better against white or lighter jerseys, then you must be blind. PWNED. home jerseys should be dark. discussion over.

Great explanation.

Kinda like how on Canada Day, what colour does everyone wear? Not white, RED.

I do associate white home jerseys with the kind of "white hat, black hat" heroes VS villains mentality, which I always thought was the point, but I dig colour at home now, that's for sure.

I agree with Lucky #13 100%

Dark should definitely be worn at home.

color at home too represent a some what home town advantage.

every road team sports white.

Never could understand in the past why we had White at home, like everyone else.

With color, yer teams stands out and teh road team is always the bad guys in white

rather then having a rainbow of colors parade through yer arena.
98% of Canuck fans are ignorant.////// Skate Logo, in orca colors.... someone design that...

If my foot ain't in yo mouth keep it shut hater.

white is the colour the good guys wear.. like the white knight, the white wizard, etc.

white symbollically through out time has always represented purity and goodness.

also, to go back to that guys extreme psycho-analysis of black vs white.. white reflects light... light comes in and bounces off of it. white is a stronger "colour" (for sake of this discussion, i'll call white and black colours, even though we know they're not colours)
white also has the appearance of looking bigger because all the colours are bouncing off of it.

black on the other hand absorbs every colour.. the light gets sucked up by the black which is why we see black in the first place. it looks smaller, and it's not as strong as white, since it can't stand on it's own.

I dont know if this means anyting but usually these kids where the other canucks colour and logo.
Posted Image its just blue and white,no maroon or green

probably because they have made hundreds of those for kids to wear, and it's waaaaay cheaper to print in one colour rather than every canuck colour out there.

stop reading so much into things.

Hey
so i was talking to this employee at Authentix and he told me that the jersey was leaked by Willie Mitchell.
He claims that it's the orca minus the red and light blue, and fading down into black.
Anybody have a photo of this? Anybody hear of this?
Canuck till i die
