Canucks was writting across the top of the WHL jerseys in Vancouver in the 60's the same way it is written on the new ones. The millionairs then went on to have sweaters with a V that had "Vancouver" written in it! There was then the vintage stick and then the orca. So you take all of of hockey history in vancouver minus the halloween years nd u get what we have now. Sure it could have been better but i think its a cool idea.

Not bad stuff there topcorner, but taking the wordmark out and moving the logo up to the chest are the main thing that needs to be done before any "trim" details.

I LIKE THE WORDMARK.
THE WORDMARK SHOULD STAY!

99% of the people disagree and I'm not sure how you can say that after looking at those.
The text makes the whole thing busy and cluttered. Good design is knowing when to say when and dial it back again if necessary.
They obviously missed that step here.

also, i've been staring at those NHL07 mock up skins for weeks, hoping those would be our jerseys, so i'm really excited that those were what we actually got!! i was really pulling for the wordmark. and i love that it's the size it is.
remember these?

whoever posted this was a genius. i hoped it would be our jersey the moment i saw it.. and now that it is, i could not be any happier.
well done canuck creative team!!!!

I think a lot of you guys are going to be pissed off and disappointed.
I can't say much but the Fin's cartoon photo is pretty close.
Haha. I almost thought you weren't joking for a minute there.

They should have conceived a logo that was strong, fast, intimidating, pretty, easily recognizable, politically correct, and appealed to the key taget demographic of 6-to-57-year-olds.
The look should have reflected all the regions of British Columbia, should have been earthy and outdoorsy, but still urban and edgy. Something you could wear to the beach, to the opera, to work, to the gym, to church, and to Church's Fried Chicken.
It should have had vents, pockets, zippers, snaps, a hood, and a snitload of velcro, but still been clean and sleek.
It should have imparted the message, "We are proud of our team and our city and our province and our country, and, while we are somewhat disappointed with the team's inability to capture a Stanley Cup, we remain ever hopeful, and secretly suspect that this jersey will somehow give the team the ability to succeed this time."
Then EVERYBODY could have liked it.

The point I'm making is that out of all this new jersey controversy we, at least, now have the vintage BLUE back and we should give Flames fans a run for their money.

The poll being conducted elsewhere has about 55% of people saying they'd like the wordmark in some way or form (ie, those ho don't support it straight-up suggest making it smaller or making it say "Canucks"). Only 45% or so don't want anything to do with it. Regardless, you're being dramatic.

I think the vintage logo looked better because of the sharp contrast of blue and white. The orca doesn't stand out as much.... I guess that's why the text was added.
