I've seen the new jerseys guys

I think a lot of you guys are going to be pissed off and disappointed.

I can't say much but the Fin's cartoon photo is pretty close.

Haha. I almost thought you weren't joking for a minute there.

99% of the people disagree and I'm not sure how you can say that after looking at those.

The text makes the whole thing busy and cluttered. Good design is knowing when to say when and dial it back again if necessary.

They obviously missed that step here.

I like the wordmark too.

You know what they should have done? They should have come up with a style and colour scheme that reflected the team's history and heritage, but was new and stylish.

They should have conceived a logo that was strong, fast, intimidating, pretty, easily recognizable, politically correct, and appealed to the key taget demographic of 6-to-57-year-olds.

The look should have reflected all the regions of British Columbia, should have been earthy and outdoorsy, but still urban and edgy. Something you could wear to the beach, to the opera, to work, to the gym, to church, and to Church's Fried Chicken.

It should have had vents, pockets, zippers, snaps, a hood, and a snitload of velcro, but still been clean and sleek.

It should have imparted the message, "We are proud of our team and our city and our province and our country, and, while we are somewhat disappointed with the team's inability to capture a Stanley Cup, we remain ever hopeful, and secretly suspect that this jersey will somehow give the team the ability to succeed this time."

Then EVERYBODY could have liked it.

I know it's a little early to say this but in the wake of the new jerseys coming out and the divide it as created, I would like to make a plea here. Now that the color scheme is now official BLUE with green, it's time for everyone who goes to a HOME game to "Believe in Blue." As you all know, the Flames have the sea of red, well we can now have the sea of blue. Wear the new jersey, the vintage blue jersey, a blue Canucks t-shirt, or hell, just wear a blue t-shirt you bought from Wal-mart.

The point I'm making is that out of all this new jersey controversy we, at least, now have the vintage BLUE back and we should give Flames fans a run for their money.

The poll being conducted elsewhere has about 55% of people saying they'd like the wordmark in some way or form (ie, those ho don't support it straight-up suggest making it smaller or making it say "Canucks"). Only 45% or so don't want anything to do with it. Regardless, you're being dramatic.

Like many others, I hated the lettering above the logo. But, having looked at it for a couple of days now, I think I'm cool with it. Wish they would've done something about the logo to make it more interesting.

I think the vintage logo looked better because of the sharp contrast of blue and white. The orca doesn't stand out as much.... I guess that's why the text was added.

weather you like it or hate it, the fact that the acceptance is so 50-50 says that the creators were not successfull in their goal. SO expect a change in 2 years or even a 3rd jersey next year. Something completely different to satisfy the nay-sayers.

Why doesnt anyone understand the jersey concept?????? Everyone just hates the Vancouver text sure it is a busy jersey but u know it looks pretty sharp.
Canucks was writting across the top of the WHL jerseys in Vancouver in the 60's the same way it is written on the new ones. The millionairs then went on to have sweaters with a V that had "Vancouver" written in it! There was then the vintage stick and then the orca. So you take all of of hockey history in vancouver minus the halloween years nd u get what we have now. Sure it could have been better but i think its a cool idea.

I think the majority understood what they were getting at. I just think people didnt want the entire history of the canucks crammed all on one jersey. I think the vintage colours was enough to pay homage to our past.

If they wanted to include the Halloween years though they could have had vertical striping like the "EA sports leak" they had from TEAM 1040.

I totally agree....everyone should now be wearing vintage blue to all Canuck games. The team as now decided on our identity, and it's time to embrace it and show our pride in our team.

Love our team....Love our game......... Let's show the rest of the NHL we are the best place to be and play in the league.

Overall, I like the new jerseys, but I'm a bit disappointed. They could have been so much better.

The "VANCOUVER" text looks way too busy, especially with the captain's "C" and alternates "A"s

The whale logo doesn't seem to be coloured right either, looks like a logo that would work on a blue/silver jersey..not a blue/green.

The whale logo needs a green outline, and the workmark needs to go.

Here's what I'd like to have seen

Good, but imo, the whale should be a different colour (black / dark blue) like in the new jerseys.

I don't think the whale should even be ON the jerseys. I was expecting a huge change, not just changing the colours and placing VANCOUVER over top of the whale; I'm rather disapointed.

I think this would be better. I love that green outline. The only change I would make is to make the inner collar green so it is consistent with the current vintage.

I would like to see the away with the same logo, the blue bottom part (as shown previously in this thread). The collar would be outside green, inside white, blue NHL tag.

There is no way that ANY jersey would have pleased all of us. IMO if 50% of fans liked it right away, that's a success. Like songs and fashion and even new vehicle designs, people need to hear/see things a few times before we really form a valid opinion. How many of us have not liked a song the first time we hear it, but it grew to be a favorite? As for the 50% (if it really is that high) that don't like the jersey, there is no way that even half of you could ever agree on something you would like. Just give it some time or just get over it. It's the canucks we love. If you like what they're wearing, great. If not, cheer anyways.
As for me, I like the jerseys because of the historic elements of Vancouver's hockey tradition and that they are not just a "cookie cutter" design like most other NHL teams. Go Canucks !

Why does the away jersey sleeves have blue on the bottom 1/3? Colour blends in way too much with the players gloves. Makes it seem their gloves are from the good old days of hockey. Like 18inches long. Should of kept it white.

Someone photoshop the restyled lumberjack logo onto the new jersey and the stick and rink on on shoulder and the orco on the other.

The original vintage whites did have blue on the bottom 1/3 of the sleeves.

Probably wont buy the new jersey. Will most likely buy a t shirt as they look pretty cool, and if I was to buy a jersey I'd buy the original blue vintage
