Not saying that "my" leak is going to be real either. Just that this one CERTAINLY isn't (since its actually based in part on my version)

Also, when did the cell phone pics become "my" leak :P I just made a mockup based on them. Obviously, if the pics are fake then my mockup is worthless, but if they are real, my mockup might be fairly close.

I really hope the leaks you put together are fake, they look awful. You did a good job putting them together, but the jersey looks like crap.

Hey MaximA,
I'm not sure your interpretation of the "leaked" jersey's logo is accurate. I believe this may have been posted in the other thread at some point, but I believe the leaked image looks like this (minus my shoddy photoshop skills.)
Posted Image

This logo has the following changes from the current logo:
Dark Blue -> Vintage Blue
Light Blue -> White
Red Stitching -> Vintage Blue Stitching
Additional Green Border Added.

The crack in the ice is clearly silver and not blue. There is still a silver outline however it is reflective and appears as white in the photo in alot of places, but you will notice appear darker in places too. The lines around the nose and mouth have not changed thickness, it is just the blurryness.

Wow, I agree. That is likely a more accurate interpretation of the logo.
It's difficult to tell from the blurry images, but I agree that the crack in the ice is silver.

I will revise my high-res logo to reflect the changes, and update the mockups.

It is difficult to tell. I believe that perhaps the outer silver stitching has been shrunk a bit to accommodate the green, but it is way too blurry to judge its width accurately.

Thanks for all the work setting up this thread, and producing the mock ups.

Check this out.

I've modified the concept logo to incorporate the stitched blue ring around the inside, used silver for the crack in the ice, and replaced the white border with silver.

I've also added some textures/emboss to make it look more like a jersey crest.

I think it looks even closer to the leaked photo. What do you guys think?

A definite improvement.

Until it's officially unveiled, nothing here is for certain.

And even that 'look' could be a red herring.

But the efforts to show the many 'possibilities' for the new logo, is much appreciated.

It helps satisfy peoples cravings for anything related to the new look.

i hate the NHL for making us wait like this, no schedule, no reveal no big marketing campaign

how hard could it of been to create a 30 day campaign through all of july or august revealing 1 new jersey everyday, they would of got way more coverage and free advertisement in papers and on the news, or a massive reveal with all 30 teams sending reps somewhere for a press conference

the entire nhl HQ should be cleaned out, how stupid can they possibly be

Jason Williams - Forward - Forward
Cam Barker - Michal Rozsival
Mathieu Schneider - Adrian Aucoin

BCLIONS ARE NAMES AFTER THE LIONS ON THE NORTH SHORE. ALSO WHY, DO THEY HAVE FEMALE LION ON THE HEMET, WHERE AS THE DETROIT LIONS HAVE A MALE.

hahahahhaha.....the lion is a Mountain Lion/Cougar, which are abundant in our province.

The WW2 pilot is good. But its not that the whale should represent hockey, the blackhawks is a tribe of NATIVES. either way its not a whale with blue or white diarehia. The orca is a corporate logo. Orca bay lied to every by saying that it represented Vancouver. It doesn't. Orca Bay is not a Canadian company. The company is from seattle or Oregon. The orca is representing the company not the canucks. This is why so many peop object to the Orca. It doesn't matter if penguins play hockey or having anything to do with hockey. Pittsburgh is called the penguins hence a penguin, not the Wal-mart logo or whatever company's logo that owns the team

I get so sick and tired of hearing this same lame donkey argument...

EVERY sports logo is a corporate logo. Period.

I read your points, and you most definately are not speaking for ALL of Vancouver.

I've been a fan of this team for over thirty years and I HATE the stick in a box logo. And here is a lttlie FYI for you...they went with that logo because they thought it would look good on HNIC, hence it would SELL. Sounds like a CORPORATE decision to me.

Point is, not everyone hates the orca logo. Whatever its origin, it is the first logo that represents our region in any way, shape or form and you don't have to tell people that it is in the shape of a 'C'.

Now if you like the stick in a box logo, great. Good for you. Nothing says hockey like pasting a hockey stick on your chest. But it doesn't represent what a Canuck is any more than the orca logo does, and it sure doesn't represent the city of Vancouver or the province of BC.

The best argument I've heard in favour of the stick in a box logo is that it is simple, and the for the fans of simple, it really floats their boat. Good on them.

But I'm a fan of logos and colour schemes that represent the city or region, so I like the orca logo. The orca also happens to be my favourite animal, so I really like the logo. And if the jersey happens to be the green and blues with the orca logo and 'Vancouver' lettering that were 'leaked' on July 30th, fan-freaking-tastic, beacuse those jerseys have the logo I want to see, the colours I want them to use and they mix several of their past jersey designs, which really appeals to the long time fan in me.

You don't like them? Too bad. Don't buy them. But stop claiming to speak for 'all of Vancouver', because you don't.

Just to be picky...
That's a BUSINESS decision... there's a difference between a simple business decision (to make money) and a decision by a corporation to use the symbol and name of their corporation in the Canucks logo JUST because it's part of their corporation name & logo (ie. not strictly just to make money).

However, I do agree with almost everything else you said... I don't have a problem with the orca logo. I kinda like it... and I LOVE the green and blue vintage colours, but I'm not a fan of the stick and rick logo itself.

I'm going to take this SLIGHTLY off topic, but let's get some opinions on what Lou is going to do with his mask selections this year since they have redone the jerseys.

Is he:

Going to make completely new one(s) or,

Stick with the grizzly/skyline mask (possibly with the buildings recolored green to match the uni trim) for home games when they wear the darks and the white Johnny Canuck mask for away games when they wear the whites?

The real deal is actually MORE cartoonish. The current logo is a toned down Haida stylization. Judging from these, we need far more red in our logo.

they're not always exclusively red and black...

Altho, yeah, red is definitely the most common and prevalent colour.

Teams will be playing in white at home and dark on the road, last I heard. Like the white at home.

You could be right. I just remember them saying that teams will have new jerseys and they will be wearing white at home. Also now 3rd jerseys for any teams this year.
