I will be revamping the main page as more information becomes available during the off-season. As of right now, I'll be keeping a transaction log. The Moose Blog is currently on hiatus, I'm aiming to get it back up and running in the Fall. We'll see, though.

Moose Summer Transaction Log

May 29th - It is our sad duty to have heard that Canucks prospect and Moose defenseman Luc Bourdon was killed in a motor vehicle accident.
May 22nd - Mike Keane re-signs with the Moose Link.
May 20th - Mark Derlago, Greg Rallo and Travis Ramsey were signed by the Moose. Link.
May 6th - Joe Balej has signed with Trinec HC, of the Czech League. Link.
April 29th - Brad Moran has signed with Skelleftea AIK of the SEL Link.

So pretty much if the Moose score, one of our young players/prospects will have points.

Yes. Schneider is dressed. Don't know if he's starting.

Patrick Coulombe, Rahimi, Hansen (obviously), Simek, May and Kerns (sp?) not dressed.

Schneider is NOT starting.

MacIntyre is starting. Makes sense. Corey'll get his chances.

Bourdon top pairing d-man with Fortunas.

Top line of Jaffray, Moran and Balej as top line.

Bourdon's skating isn't looking that bad, backwards skating, at that.

MacIntyre got tested during the commercial break for those listening, great save.

Grabner's on the second line, had a decent shift.

Moose really haven't been able to gain the zone yet thus far.

Edler playing, looking good.

Paired with Heshka.

Nonis is in Manitoba with Tambi.

1-0 Grand Rapids.

Cullen sets up a great feed for Corrazini to score.

Loving this Ryno guy's name, also got an assist on that goal.

Bourdon showing some nice speed while gaining the blueline. WOW!

Moose on the PP now. New AHL rule: Faceoffs after a penalty is called are now taken in the offenders zone.

Edler with a couple of great chances on the PP. Two great point shots, one hitting a body, the other hitting post. Wow, christ.

Edler played THE ENTIRE POWER PLAY, set up Moran for a great opportunity, but Moran shot it wide.

Also jumped up into the play and got another shot off.

He's looking AWESOME out there.

Random observation: Bourdon and Fortunas both look pretty big out there, relative to the other guys on the ice.

So Edler is magically ok again? I'm guessing he isn't at 100 percent?

um... this could be just me but I think Edler is better than Weaver from what I've seen. Why not bring Edler up and Weaver down since he has a 2 way anyways?

Edler's down for conditioning as he hasn't really played.

He saw a chiropractor who seems to have sorted things out for him.

Bourdon playing with a bit of the edge, jumped up into the play while the Moose top line was pressuring and wasn't backing down from the other guys.

Commentators said he had a 'great' training camp.

Probably scouting who they will call up next to get some offence?

Or to see if Edler is back to normal.

Call Edler up, scratch Weaver.

Is Weaver on a two way?

And yeah, Edler has a accurate bomb of a shot, and should really be playing the right point on the Canuck PP.

Rypien with a breakaway, but no dice.

Dunno Tim, but they'll be on during the second intermission, I believe.

Moose to the PP.

Bourdon made three nice plays to hold the line on the PP and set up Grabner for a great chance, but Grabner fanned.

Jesus. Screw Jimmy Howard. Robbing the Moose.

The Moose sound like they're dominating, but Howard is keeping GR in it. I thought maybe Howard would have been in the big's this year.

They had a slow start, but they've been generating chances and mostly keeping it in Grand Rapids end.

Griffons on the PP, Brown with a beauty of a hit, too bad it was interference. ;p

Rypien also had a nice little razzle dazzle there and shook a defender.

McIver just took out a fan, shot the puck over the glass.

McIver and Fortunas first PK unit with Keane and uhh....couldn't catch the other name.

Griffons with no shots on that PP. Good work Moose.

Moose outshot GR 13-4 in the first period, most of those shots were pretty damn good ones, too. Howard is looking great out there.

oh ok

I was just surprised to see Edler playing already because I thought that just a few days ago the AV said he was week to week.

Good to hear Bourdon have a great training camp and a good game so far. Probably a lot more comfortable with the speed of the game in the AHL right now in his development stage.

I'm pretty sure Weaver is on a two way. Just seems to get stripped of the puck too often, fann's on a lot of clearing attempts/passes and is sometimes scary in the decisions he makes. That is just what I saw though and I'm no hockey expert but I thought Edler last season and in pre-season this year is much more reliable and effective.

I rather have Edler up when he gets some conditioning games and gets to be the point man on the 2nd unit PP, I rather not have Morrison back there.

Come on Grabner.....go Spokane on their asses.

Really bombarded Howard in the 1st, 13(?) shots.
