[PROPOSAL] ALEX KOVALEV to the canucks?

He seems to be in and out of Montreal's doghouse, and continually in trade rumours. He is even in a story on tsn.ca today about him being pissed at the coach. That's a good way of getting traded in a hurry. He has wanted out of Montreal for a while, and I think he would be a perfect fit for the Canucks. He plays right wing, he has good size (6'2 - 222pd), he is only 34, and he has great offensive skills. And I would sure love to see Kovalev out there with Nazzy, and out on our powerplay.
* I think Montreal would part ways with him pretty easily if the right deal came around.
My idea would be something like:
To Vancouver - Kovalev
To Montreal - Cooke and ???? (One of Krajicek, Edler, Bourdon or Schneider or a 2nd round draft pick)
So if that trade went through, our lines would look something like this:
Sedin Sedin Pyatt
Nazzy Morrison Kovalev
Isbitser Kesler Linden
Burrows Richie Cowan / Rypien
I'm not sure what Montreal would want out of the the Canucks lineup, but I think they could use a player like Cooke.
What do you guys think?

Giving up any of those prospects listed would be a terrible idea for an aging primadonna.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but at the moment I wouldn't do Cooke for Kovalev.
Before you all rip on me, hear me out. This isn't because of some Cooke love-fest.
The last thing I would want our team to do is tie up 4.5m next offseason in a 35 year old who hasn't hit 25 goals since the 02-03 season. He doesn't do well in his own end and he lacks focus.
We're finally going to jettison some major contracts and we might actually be in the running for a top UFA. Why spoil that now?
If we are going to ship out Cooke, I would much rather invest in some draft picks instead.

Mike Keane is my hero.

If he's not playing Carbonneau's defensive system what the hell makes you think he'll play Vigneault's?
Nevermind the fact he's a moody, overpaid underachiever.

Kovalev is phenomenally skilled, perhaps the best dangler the NHL has ever seen..
yet, he refuses to actually try.
Now, that the man is still a consistent 60 point player even though he doesn't try at all is pretty impressive.
To show that all's equal and that the courts are on the level
And that the strings in the books ain't pulled and persuaded
And that even the nobles get properly handled
Once that the cops have chased after and caught 'em
And that the ladder of law has no top and no bottom,
Stared at the person who killed for no reason
Who just happened to be feelin' that way without warnin'.
And he spoke through his cloak, most deep and distinguished,
And handed out strongly, for penalty and repentance,
William Zanzinger with a six-month sentence.
Oh, but you who philosophize disgrace and criticize all fears,
Bury the rag deep in your face
For now's the time for your tears.

Kovalev has some productive years left in him, and a change in scenery might do him some good. Cooke’s days in Van are numbered, and we have a bunch of prospects that we could afford to trade. We only have Luongo for 3 more years, and who knows if he will re-sign. We are very close to having a contending lineup. Also, everyone keeps talking about the quality free agent market next year, but all the good players are being re-signed by their respective teams. And the teams will match all offer sheets on their restricted star players. Hell, we even matched Kesler’s! I would have taken the picks! OK I’ll stop, I’m rambling… Go nucks!
