I have a question for anybody that gets to watch a fair amount of Moose games.

How has this kid looked so far?

I am impressed to see he is 5th in team scoring (6 pts in 7 games). I assumed he would have trouble cracking the Moose roster, and play as a fourth liner or else be a second line player with Victoria. He has already put up 3x more points than Bernier has in the AHL, and Bernier played 39 games.

Are these stats just a fluke? Benefit of good linemates? Or has he actually been playing really well?
Double the trouble.

I liked the way LaBrie played for the Canucks in the pre-season and become a fan of his when I saw how he forechecks. The guy is like a monster truck when he runs a defenceman off the puck in the offensive zone. He was surprised to even get an invite to the Canucks training camp and now he's in the AHL. I hope they develop this guy properly because he's going to be a very good player.

He's the Moose's replacement for Bernier, a big body to stick in front of the net on the PP, he's doing this job terrific and is causing alot of havoc for opposing goalies. His future as an NHL player is uncertain
QUOTE (Dave Chappelle)You know why my show is good? Because the network officials say you're not smart enough to get what I'm doing, and every day I fight for you. I tell them how smart you are. Turns out, I was wrong. You people are stupid.

From what I have heard his skating is awful. He is still young and has time to improve his footspeed, but if he doesn't I see him being another Lee Goren. A big body that is an effective power forward in the AHL but cant get it together in the NHL.

But from his size and physical play I think he has potential to be an NHLer, maybe another Dustin Penner but he has a long way to go. Penner was a late bloomer as well, undrafted and cut from his junior B team at the age of 16.
Double the trouble.

I find it amusing that he has more points than Bobby Ryan does right now

He wasn't a training camp invitee, he was a Canucks offseason signing.

Should take on a bigger role now with Jaffray, Balej, and Shannon all out due to injuries.

Actually, someone said(I think AV) that Larbries skating is good for his size, but then again, skating good for your size and skating well are 2 different thhings

I didn't mean to say he was a "training camp invitee". I knew he had been signed by Vancouver and got the chance to join their camp instead of possibly playing university hockey.

another goal and assist tonight. 4 goals 4 assists in 9 games and 21 pim. Its good to see that he is continuing putting points on the board, especially after a slow start. It would be fantastic if this guy developed into the sedin linemate we have always dreamed about. Big, tough, right handed shot, and looks to have solid offense instincts. Great find by Nonis.
Double the trouble.

It might not be a bad idea actually, but I can't really say either way I haven't seen him play.

Can anybody give a scouting report? Is mighty moose still around? I want to hear more about him. On paper he looks like a steal due to his size and point production, but for all I know he may be as slow as molasses and score easy goals that he would not be able to get playing at the nhl level.
Double the trouble.
