Light layer of snow in parts of the Lower Mainland:

LOWER MAINLAND (NEWS1130) – A light dusting of snow came down in a few spots around the Lower Mainland this morning.

But News1130 Meteorologist Russ Lacate says we don’t have anything major to worry about. “It is going to be a skiff of light snow in your Monday morning forecast. We’ll get trace amounts though the morning drive time [with] very light flakes fluttering around in that cold, dry Arctic air.”

“Into the afternoon, we’ll get maybe another centimetre or two. The temperature climbs just a hair above freezing and I think overnight, it’ll be minus-2.”

And yes, Russ says there are more flurries in tonight’s forecast. “For tonight and Tuesday morning, we’ll likely get another centimetre or two.”

“It looks like a mostly grey sky Tuesday; there’s a continuing chance of lingering flurries tomorrow with a high of plus-1. But watch the thaw happen starting Wednesday, as more rain mixes into our forecast.”

How can you say that it's "just" -38? It should be super cold compared to most cities in BC!

it's better than when we had -40 with a -60 windhill (that's right, it felt like -100) in Sask when i was growing up (and school was STILL not cancelled)
