nitronuts
Metro Vancouver | Environment Canada 8:25 PM PST Tuesday 30 December 2008 Wind warning for Metro Vancouver continued Southerly winds of 60 to 90 km/h have developed or are developing this evening. This is a warning that potentially damaging winds are expected or occurring in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..Listen for updated statements. An intense frontal system just over the British Columbia coast is spreading very strong southeast winds over many coastal regions this evening. The strong winds will shift to west overnight in the wake of the front and then gradually abate Wednesday. Strong outflow winds have also developed over north coast inland sections near Terrace and are expected to ease near midnight as the low moves inland. Meanwhile, the system is producing snow to many coastal regions tonight. Total snowfall amounts of 10 cm for the Queen Charlottes and the North Coast - coastal sections and 15 cm for the Inland Vancouver Island are forecast before the snow tapers to a few flurries or changes to rain showers overnight. However, snow will continue Wednesday over the Central Coast - inland sections and additional amounts up to 20 cm are forecast by Wednesday afternoon for the region. There goes Stanley Park?
