Minnesota Wild: 3 Games Remaining (Col, Cgy, Col) - 93 Points
Calgary Flames: 5 Games Remaining (Edm, Van, Edm, Min, Van) - 90 Points
Colorado Avalanche: 3 Games Remaining (Min, Van, Min) - 90 Points
Nashville Predators: 4 Games Remaining (Det, Stl, Stl, Chi) - 86 Points
Vancouver Canucks: 4 Games Remaining (Cgy, Col, Edm, Cgy) - 86 Points
If we win all 4 of our games we will have a max of 94 points.
Minny will have a max of 99 points.
Colorado will have a max of 94 points. (Wins the tie-breaker vs. Canucks)
Calgary will have a max of 96 points.
Nashville will have a max of 94 points. (Wins the tie-breaker vs. Canucks)
Now look at who the teams play. Minnesota plays Colorado twice and Calgary once. If Minny wins all 3, then Colorado will have a max of 90 points and Calgary will have a max of 94 points (we win the tie breaker vs. Calgary). So this means we go ahead of Calgary AND Colorado. But what if Minnesota loses ALL 3 games you might ask? Well they will still have 93 points, and we will have 94 points. Yes it is very much possible for us to be infront of Minnesota.
Remember these stats are all based on regulation wins only. (If Colorado loses all 3 in OT, we still make it though
This may be a bit confusing at first, but read it over again to understand it better.
4 games might be hard to win vs. divisional opponents but it is very well possible.
