Thats about the same or less scoring than we had this year, a solid first line, but the rest are all unproven, with the second feature all rookies who have very little NHL experience, and again very little toughness

yah thats kinda what i was thinking too but mind as well think about. The toughness is not there.

As of right now, 2.5 million is an an overpayment for Morrison, and Naslund for 4 million HA! + he is not coming back
That defense looks good, but our forward unit has no toughneses and are 4th line is supposed to be filled with crashers and bangers and fighters, but you have a 20 goal scorer, a rookie and an unproven tiny shannon

if you havent noticed look where a fourth line composed of crashers and bangers got us this year. actually most of our team were 4th liners this year..i think thats one of our many flaws, and ultimatley why we couldnt make it to the playoffs. WE NEED SKILL!!

Kessel on the 4th line o.O
First of all ditch all the phony wannabe tough guys get parros he can actually fight(bye bye cowan)
say good bye to naslund, morrison, pyatt and izzle bizzle.
We can use that money for a player like Hossa, Langkow, Malone they can get the puck in the net

yes but not on the 4th line, why play offensive forwards on the 4th line wasting them because they will only play 6-10 minutes a game. The 4th line should bring energy and be able to fight to defend the team, keeping other teams bangers/fighters in check and boost up the team when down

The point of my lineup is that there IS not 4th line, but rather a checking line and 2 quality 3rd lines, some might consder them 2nd lines

You won't see my roster for another 2 months or so , atleast until the playoffs are almost over...

I'am not going to throw in random players in random postions and call it a roster...

So we wont see your roster until the actual roster is close to decided

Real bright

I think you're just afraid of having us critique your roster

Its called being smart.....

The regular season isn't over yet and already you people are making next years rosters...

1st. Lets wait and see which teams get knocked out of the playoffs , for example : If a team like the sharks gets knocked out early , they may want to move some players example being Patrick Marleau.....too say they are willing to move him now would be stupid.....

2nd. Lets wait and see which players chose to explore their rights as UFA's....

*we need to build a top line that will get around 90-100 goals roughly naslund morrison hossa w/e
* we need a perm linemate for kesler and burrows possibly hansen not sure
* a better style of play less boring more offensive dumping the puck in all the time doesn't work well
* dump some d men salary making room for edler and bourdon

We also need a line that will beat the sh*t out of the other team...

My Canucks 08/09 Line-up

Forwards

Rolston (4) - J. Carter (4) - Hossa (7.5)
Sedin (3.575) – Sedin (3.75) – Pyatt (1.575)
Burrows (483K) – Kesler (1.75) – Raymond (661K)
Brown (500K) – Rypien (465K) – Cowan (725K)
Pettinger (1.1)

Total: 29.909

Defense

Ohlund (3.88) – Salo (3.5)
Mitchell (3.5) – Bieksa (4)
Edler (535K) – Krajicek (1.1)
Spare/call up: Bourdon (587K)

Total: 17.102 million

Goalies

Luongo (7)
Sanford (600K)

Total: 6.7 million

Overall total: 53.711

Assuming the cap with be 56 million next year that leaves us to play around with 2.289 million dollars to add on the forwards or make a deal at the deadline.

I know that people say signing FA doesn't make a wining team, but the 3 for the top line are all proven scorers and the Canucks can finally have a legitimate first scoring line.

The second line features the proven to be successful line of the Sedins and Pyatt, where they belong, at least for now, as they have not proven to be the # 1 line, effectively shutdown for long periods of time and not showing up when it means most.

The third line is the ever affect checking line that can also scorer, having a much improved offensive of Burrows, the 20 goal scorer Kesler and an up and coming rookie that has shown signs of brilliance.

The fourth line is the classic crash, bang and fight combination, with each player capable off dropping the mitts and creating energy from big hits. As for Pettinger being a 4th liner/spare, I didnt see him fitting well on any of the lines. I guess it would depend on how he plays and on others play and injuries. Taking that into consideration, I am sure he would see some time on the checking line and switching around with Cowan/Rypien on the 4th line.

Our top 4 d-men are one of the best in the NHL, and Edler's experience this year has him being able to step up if we have injury problems again, but I believe he will thrive with 3rd pairing minutes, not having to be overplayed and tired.

Goaltending, Luongo, enough said, hopefully able to play better with the team having the ability to score and not having the pressure of having to let in a maximum of 2 goals each game. As for Sandford, very good number 2 and good attitude. He is/can be a number one for bottom feeders. He should get more playing time, he is capable and Luongo should have more rest.

Critique away…

Not bad.... I'am a big fan of the 4th line + the sedins being on the 2nd line

but would rather see petty in over cowan

What is the deal with Ales Kotalik always being mentioned on these boards, what the hell has he ever done.....just another soft player the Canucks should stay as far away from as possible. It makes me sick the amount of times I have read someone say Nonis should get Ales Kotalik....What a joke!

Yeah but I guess that would depend on who we play and I am sure we would have injuries so Petty would probably play on the checking line if that happened

you dont have to be tough to be good, but the Canucks are full of 15-20 goal wimps....If anything toughness, heart and leadership is what this team needs, not another figure skater that is scared to go in the drty areas. aka Naslund, Sedin, Sedin.
