no I would go with good prospect pool, if we don't trade away any picks in 09(then I'd say deep). The loss of Bourdon really hurts.

Thanks to mr7 for the sig

yeah the loss of bourdon does sting, and lets hope that we didnt flub on rai and froshaug. since this draft was quite deep you have to rethink the value of our draft picks, last year sauve would have been in the first round and rai would have been in the second.

I still just can't believe that Bourdon is gone. When I think of all the time of spent defending the guy on CDC - he was still just so young. What a tragedy

QUOTE (100%_Sober @ Aug 20 2009, 02:28 AM) Hockey Canads rewards players who do well at the international level. Hodgson was the best player at the WJC and has NHL all star skill already.
I don't think its to far fetched.
I'd rate the odds at 40/60 that Hodgson makes Team Canada.
QUOTE (Raging Wookies @ Aug 20 2009, 02:31 AM) I'd rate the odds at 90/10 that you were dropped on your heard multiple times as a child.
QUOTE (StealthNuck @ Aug 23 2009, 04:16 PM) I'm looking forward to you going back to school. Have a wonderful grade 5.

Who would you choose, Filatov or Schenn?

Yah, Nonis isn't the best drafter in the world.

Cheechoo is a top six forward. Cheechoo needs a change of scenery. If he gets one, he will be a 20+ goal scorer again. There's no point in arguing with you. You're the most retarded and ignorant person I've ever met on CDC.

Edler shouldn't be in that group, he's already a full time Canuck. Meaning he ain't a prospect anymore.

Sig by me!

You forgot,

Mario Bliznak
Dan Gendur
Taylor Ellington
Jannik Hansen
Juraj Simek
Pierre-Cedric Labrie

They are not a bad looking group either. Gendur put up huge numbers this year and outperformed Beach with the Silvertips. Bliznak has the potential to be a great agitator/15 goal scorer. Ellington is a big kid with a lot of upside playing on that same Everett team. That list also doesn't include Drew Macintyre who is ready to get a crack at the NHL this year. We are in much better shape than people think.

A good prospect pool, compare 4-5 years ago when the Canucks are calling up TylerBouck, Lee Goren as fill ups.

hodgson really is a great prospect hes got great leadership skills and a good work ethic. Gillis defenitly made a good impression with fans when he drafted him. under Gillis our prospect pool should flourish if the past weeks draft says anything about Gillis' drafting skills.

Its improving, but not deep
perhaps in the next couple of seasons.
