I've got it on my Netflix list. My mom and dad LOVE Dr. Who. And Torchwood.

And I love David Tennant.

I'll let you know when I get around to it.

my girlfriend is in love with david tennant too.

she got me hooked.. i love the show. and torchwood - which i think is even better than doctor who because it's intended for an older audience (ie. swearing, blood, violence, nudity, sex)

but yeah,

my girlfriend is going to england to watch David Tennant and Patrick Stewart in Hamlet. Should be great.

I heard they're already having discussions for who will be playing the next reincarnation of the doctor.

that would suck!

I really liked Chris Eccleston when he was the doctor... but after seeing so much of David Tennant i've really grown fond of his character as the Doctor, and i don't think anyone else can get close to him.

True story, when David Tennant was young, and they had to write about what they wanted to be when they grew up, he said he wanted to be The Doctor. Now he is. Pretty crazy.

it's like when every canadian kid says they want to be an NHL player, except way better because there have only been 7 or 8 Doctors.

I rarely watch the new Doctor Who but I always mean to. I think it used to be on the same time Heroes was on so I'd always watch Heroes instead. But I like David Tennant way more than Christopher Eccleston. I did borrow a couple of Tom Baker episodes from the McGill library.

you have such a treat to come if you haven't seen any of the current series yet!

it's just ended here in England and it was definitely my favourite of the "new" Dr Who series so far - even better than S2 which was my previous favourite

love it

I just read on ONTD that many UK fans were displeased that a phone numbe repeatedly shown on screen was not real. Many fans tried to call the number, hoping to get some inside scoop on the storyline, but there was a dead line on the other end.

Just got an update via Facebook...David Tennant is leaving:(. I'm very disappointed...he was way better than Eccleston and I haven't watched enough of Tom Baker and the other Doctors so I'd say DT was my favourite...

Super necro bump!
I Recently got into the new ones (couldn't stand the old ones), and I loved David Tennant as the doctor. I was afraid i wouldn't like Matt Smith, but i'm 8 episodes into season 5 and I'm liking him just fine. it seems weird to switch the main actor in the middle of a series, but I suppose it works well for the longevity of the series. I'm watching them via BBC America, so it's 4 a week, and I'm guessing it will be up to date in time for the 7th season this fall, and I'm looking forward to it.

I just can't get into Smith... actually, I just can't get into how the writers have made the Doctor into Amy's sidekick. I think he could be great, if it wasn't for the limitations of the writers. Any time they have him really "take charge" he seems like a totally different person.

I enjoyed the Doctor... when I had time to watch tv.

i actually really like amy as a sidekick, plus she's super hot while donna was kinda annoying. and it seems like both doctors were sidekicks at times to the companions.

I didn't get that feeling at all with Donna... but then DT had already been the Doctor for a few seasons, so I probably didn't notice it. One of my favorite scenes is with Donna...

Fans of the new series should watch BBC's Sherlock as well. I was a little hesitant about watching a Sherlock Holmes drama set in the modern day, but most episodes have been very well written. A lot of the creative team behind Doctor Who is also responsible for producing Sherlock and certain themes definitely cross over - in fact the actor playing Sherlock was almost cast as the Doctor after David Tennant left.
