Wow are you serious? If i was a Bell/Telus customer I'd be pretty upset with this news.

They really need to do something about the lack of competition here in Canada.

I'm with Fido and incoming text messages are always free.

What if you get a lot of spam messages on your cell? Are they going to charge you for them too?

Kessel will put up less points than Wellwood this year. CALLING IT.

Let me guess. You are a Telus or Bell customer.

I hope there's a way to completely shut down incoming messages. Like a lot of people said, what about spam?

I'm with Bell.
But I shouldn't complain....I never get text messages anyways....I just get calls which are all free because of the free incoming.

Canadian cell service charges are such a ripoff.

My sister uses an American provider (since she works in California) and she's always astonished at how much we have to pay for cell service.

I know it's ridiculous! the iPhone plan by Rogers is another example of how much we're getting jipped.
and you'd think it would get better and cheaper over time....

Gee. More expensive communications. More expensive gas. More expensive airfare. More expensive foods. Housing repossessions. Looks like hard times for anyone who isn't already wealthy. Wonder how that happened?

Text messaging is pure profit for cell phone companies. The lack of true competition between telecommunications companies is rather disturbing.

Does that still apply if I have a monthly plan with Bell and I get free incoming texts? I also have 500 texts a month though, so that should be fine for me either way.

Then don't use text messaging!

Is it so hard to just phone your pals?

I think people are misreading this article.

it is for PAY AS YOU GO customers only.
every cell phone provider has an unlimited plan for like $10

regardless, Im with Fido and I pay $10 for unlimited text incoming and outgoing
