I think this song would be awesome for the new intro for the canucks. Just play if from the beginning.

What do all of you think? With lyrics or just the instrumental?

No. The songs all right, but nothing can replace Where The Streets Have No Name. The song is great and is the perfect intro.

I agree that Where the Street Have No Name is perfect still. Last season though it seemed like DJ Dave was just pulling songs out of his donkey as the intro and there was a new one used every 5 games so I don't know what they will do next season, but if they won't use Streets then this song could fit.

You know, I never thought I'd say this - but maybe it is time to ditch the song.

The Streets Have No Name always immediately connected me to players who are now gone, so it's become irrelevant. Nazzy, Mo, Trevor, Bert, Jovo, Cookie...it was THEIR song and it just can't work now. I never really liked that song, but when it became the Canuck's song, I loved it. It gave me goosebumps every time I heard it come blaring on at GM Place. Now it just brings sadness. Yep, I think it's time to move on - a new team, a new identity, a new song.

While the lyrics in this song are good, I don't think this song has enough "umph" to get players fired up. A little too soft.

In the words of great men:
"WOOOOOOOO"

I don't want to be in church when I'm at a Canucks' game.

Seeing as it's General Motors Place and all, "Boys In The Bright White Sports Car" wouldn't be too bad. The Chilliwack Chiefs used to use it in the early nineties (as the players were about to jump onto the ice), and it always got the crowd energized (mostly because a lot of the games ended up being 8-2 Chilliwack.. lol). Plus Trooper is a Canadian band.

Just throwin' it out there. Honestly, I don't have a problem with Streets. Doesn't make a huge difference to me.

AC/DC--->Money Talks ;) no really they should stay with the U2 song the intro is what gets people pumped up. I just can't see that Cold Play song doing anything to get the fans going at all.

Exactly. This song is a classic. There was a thread where I said earlier. This song is awsome for the pre-game.

/agree

Though to be honest, I am not sure if I'll get goose bumps hearing it this year...or just melancholy memories of Markus and Brendan.
Thanks for the sig Johnny.

You honestly think that we should have a heavy metal song as our intro. Wow, that would sound awful.
