My iPhones screen has a deadspot in it so I'm bringing it to the apple store in Vancouver and does anyone know if they'll accept it to be repaired even if it has been jailbroken and unlocked previously? I'll probably restore it to factory settings before I bring it to the store. Its a 2G iPhone if that helps.

I am pretty sure they would take it. Isn't the unlocking a firmware update? Watch them lock it again to original network it was on.

It was unlocked for any sim card but I hope they don't update the firmware.

I'd suck it up and buy a new one so they don't call the cops on you.

They'll update it to the newest version btw.
Thats the first thing they do.

Is the problem really that bad?
If not, just sell it online, and buy a new unlocked one, you might pay about 50$ more, but its better than 200$ worth replacement.

Ok thanks for the info and there is usually always a way to unlock the latest firmware. Plus I already found a few cellular stores that will replace the screen for $200 and they don't update the software.
