jmahyoung
I wonder if we can acquire Burrows after his contract ends? Either as a player or an assistant coach, or something.

fanfor42
Bought this original Brodeur at a showing Richard had about 8 years ago. Talked a lot of Canucks. Miss Burr and our Quebec connections. Great players!

Only way this doesn't happen, imo, is if he wins a cup in Ottawa. Beyond that, I would hope he would want to work with the Canucks in some capacity. Maybe as a scout for the QHL?

Not sure where he resides, but if he prefers to be out East, then a scout or work with Utica. He would be an excellent role model and example for the up and coming players. He has stated that he would like to be a GM at some point, so it doesn't look like he'll go in the coaching direction. Maybe scouting to start with. He's a bright guy and we all know that when Burr wants something, he has the drive to go out and get it.

A scout would be good experience if he would like to be a GM some day, but also player development and working in the management group with Utica could also help accelerate that process. Although I'm sure the Manitoba Moose would be willing to help him get that start too. A lot of doors will be open for him when he decides to retire as a player.
Fan since 82
Yes he has demonstrated the drive needed to succeed so there will be many opportunities for him in hockey management when he is ready to move into that part of the hockey world. Hope the Canucks offer him something.
WHL rocks
I don't think he can step right in to mgmt. Burr needs to work his way up the ladder. He's gonna need to go to school get a law degree Then work his way up . It takes many years . He's got the drive. So I think he'll get it done. Alright, I had to go back to page 255 too. Awesome. And this post by Toni Z back then says it all about this thread. Only thing missing is that we were robbed of our own SC that year.
oldnews
For the first time I can recall, there might be an actual, appropriate twin thread to this one. Derek Dorsett: We really needed him.

Popular Post J-23
Quote After Burrows was traded, he said one of the reasons he was willing to waive his no-trade clause was to help the Canucks for the future. These were the words of the dragon slayer following the trade: “I want these next generation (of Canucks players) – the young Bos, Hutton … and Jake – to play well in a few years and have good prospects coming back and help them achieve a Stanley Cup in Vancouver. I’d be really happy for those guys and all the fans in B.C. and Vancouver.” 1
