Let this be a lesson to you kids, create a thread where you really put your foot in it, and someone will always be around to remind you about it whenever the subject of your thread does something to prove you wrong.

All of you who started moronic threads during the losing streak: This could be you!

Love that tying goal! Burrows = Clutch

Burrows might just need that big contract. Let's see him in the playoffs, when the Big Boys come out to play. He needs to pressure himself to be the best the way Luongo and Bure did. I think Mats just decided to play hockey one day and ended up in the NHL, LoL! Great play. I've gotta go though my precious Vancouver Canucks. Ooooh got the shivers saying that. LoL! I am one proud Nuck fan right here. I gots ta sleep though. To all a good night.

I know allot of people are going to scorch me for this but I fail to see the reason why nobody questions his ability to play in the nhl. Every game i watch with him in the lineup(all of them) I find myself screaming at the tv because of the stupid stuff the guy does. Personally i'd rather have any of the guys that are fighting for a spot on the team rather than BIEKSA. Everyone's #1 reason they like this guy from what I read on this forum "He's great on the pk. Who cares! Anyone can do this thats fighting for a spot. He can't PASS and i'm tired of THE TEAM carrying this guy on his back night after night, I'm tired of him losing HIS MAN, falling down everywhere seriously this guy falls down a hundred times a night can't he skate its ridiculous, stupid penalties its endless. "He plays with grit" is another common description tossed out when his name comes up. That ok sure he pisses off guys but fails to do really be able finish that job off by being able to fight because he can't. IMOP he's an embarrassment to the team. Please Gillis let this guy go keep Krog or Pettinger or Brown whoever. let er rip.

Ok, except maybe he can fight.

I don't understand why people keep bringing up this thread. I'm pretty sure the OP started this thread just to draw a reaction.

Because we can.

This thread is epic and demonstrates how some know very little about what makes for a great player.

I, for one, will participate in this thread forever...Burrows deserves it.

you must be hallucinating. wrong on every point except fighting which isnt his job and he still tries at that. Thats just the point, he tries, and his effort over the last few years has improved his play bigtime since he earned his spot.

I'm glad to see this thread again - its like a tribute to Burrows :)

The guy has made it to the NHL and stuck out of pure determination and hard work. Back in 2004, there were so many other players ahead of him vying for a spot that its amazing he ever got a regular NHL spot! I'm so glad he did tho. He's just fun to watch and this is about ENTERTAINMENT, right?? He entertains me and makes it worth my money to contribute to them team...

What? That is freakin' hilarious.

I was saying the problem with Kesler on the second line is that now Burrows is seeing less ice time and he's been our most consistent player.

Lo and Behold, AV puts him on the first line. I thought he complemented the Sedins very well.

Burrows is a fan favourite for a reason. Not to mention: clutch, classy (the way he dealt with the Bourdon situation), hard-nosed, talented, smart and a team player.

It would be hard to find a player that brings more to a team for less money.

He can play on my team anytime.

As far as role players of his type, I'd go with him over Cooke, Ruutu or Avery anyday.

Burrows is a gem!

We scooped him up out of nowhere. A free agent with no prospects or future in the NHL. Just plugin' away in nowhereville only because he loves playing the game of hockey. Then the Canucks saw something in him and decided to give him a chance.

His play shows his enthusiasm. He may be two dimensional, but the two dimensions are strong. You can tell that he strives to be more complete each game. He knows he must continue a high level of play to stay and improve his game with the Canucks and NHL. It's a rarity to find someone like him.

On the otherside of the coin, I could see the Canucks unloading him at trade deadline. Unfortunately, he's not one of the untouchables. If he were traded, I'd be sorry to see him go. He'll be another Scott Walker or Mike Peca for us, or whatever team he ends up with. I'd like it to be with our team, of course, but that's another thread and not even relevant right now.

YES. I'm a Burrows fan!

N.
