I hear you... First time posting in years and this thread is still at the top

That is because it is pinned.

Personally I would have unpinned it this off season with no disrespect toward Burr.... loved the guy for what he was able to accomplish in his career. I hope he has as much success coaching in Laval (except against the Comets) as he did on the ice as a player.

Pretty much this. I just don't see how this is respecting or disrespecting him, but I guess I can see how some people can get attached to certain things.

But we need to learn to move on.

Burr will be a welcome addition back to the organization after learning and perfecting the art of coaching. Maybe as a pk specialist coach or something.

He will need to be fired, or let go first

He was pretty loyal to the Canucks as a player for getting his break here

He will be just as loyal to his new team, giving him a new career now

He also has kids who are growing up and the focus shifts as that happens.  Your world and priorities change and decisions are made on them, not self.  I just am so happy that he's going to remain connected to hockey, a game that gave him everything but he gave everything to.

Burrows thread unpinned?  It's like the Linden trade all over again.

The Burrows thread;  Do we really need it anymore?

If this is the beginning of the end of this thread. I'll just say before it sinks down into the forgotten pits of pages past, that I hope somehow he makes his way back to the Canucks organization.  And then we can bump this thread up again!   I hope he's back soon at any rate, to accept his place in our Ring of Honour!  Good luck Alex!

Win da Turd forever!

As much as I love Burrows (still the only jersey with name & number I own) it's well past time to let go.

Oh, I'm fine with it being unpinned.  But it always strikes me as odd that at least half the posts on this forum are meant to stifle Canucks discussion, shut down threads, unpin threads, call for a lock, etc.

I never understood pinning this tbh, I understand the love the fans had for him because yes he was a great player for this organization, but he was no Sedin, Naslund, Bure, Linden, type of star player. Why no Sedin thread was ever pinned instead I'll never understand, especially since they retired here and are possibly the best Canucks ever, but they don't deserve a pinned thread only Burrows does... It's like CDC felt Burrows was more important to this organization then the Sedins ever were, by showing that will pin the Burrows thread but not a Sedins one, never understood that logic here.

It was the thread itself as opposed to holding Burrows in higher regard than the Sedins.  If there is an iconic thread here, that's the one.  And it got pinned when Burrows accepted a trade out, which well preceded the Sedins' retirement (for which the forum was temporarily renamed "Sedin Talk").

Yeah I know I saw the title change, which was nice and good, but still thought their thread deserved the same treatment and still deserves to be pinned today, because of how great they were for this organization, just what I think no hate!

dayum I never posted anything in here before but still remember watching its first few pages way back in the day before I even knew how to operate this site.

Thanks, burr for all you received you were the very best at what you did.

Gonna be a sad day today :(.

Burrows, do we really need to ... let go?  Sigh.  Maybe, maybe not, but the views expressed in this thread is the heart and soul of the collective CDC.  Burrows is already an icon, involved in one of our biggest and absolutely cathartic goals.  Is that the right word?  Biggest works too.  Only guy other than Carter that clicked with the Sedins, and did his job well, and for a lot of it was on a team friendly contract (the last one made up for it).  Thanks Burrows, and thanks for Dahlen too.  Hopefully he will keep your legacy going, the same way Bertuzzi, Luongo, Sedin, and Markstom did for Linden.
