Ok I really don't think Raymond is useless this is just a rebuttal to the "Taylor Pyatt is Usless" thread
I feel confused as to why people are on Pyatt's back so much while turning a blind eye to the play of Raymond durring the first 3 games. Yes we all know Raymond is fast and his speed creates opertunities but so did Reid, Shannon and others. What we needed from Raymond going into this year was to increase his offensive awarness and display finishing ability and thus far IN A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME he has not shown improvement in this area. I am not saying trade him or send him down im just pointing out to the people on a witch hunt for Pyatt that he is not the only one failing to live up to standards on his line after three games. but..it's only been 3 games people give them time to click.
Anyway just thought i would spark discussion on Raymonds play after the first 3 games.

And please this is not to be another Pyatt thread we have enough to choose from already

Edit: I LIKE MASON RAYMOND AND THINK HE WILL BE A GREAT PLAYER FOR US THIS YEAR I just think people are blaming Pyatt too much for this lines early failure.

Bulis-syndrome, pick one player and hate him regardless of how others perform.

I'm not the biggest fan of Raymond, but he is far from useless, regardless of his stats so far this season.

Go read the first post of the Pyatt is useless thread.

Also Raymond has the potential to be a 30 goal scorer someday. I think he'll hit around 15 goals this year mind you.

Yeah, the fastest guy on our team is useless. His speed means nothing, eh?

Reid and Shannon creating opportunities?

Raymond hasn't scored yet, in three games. If he scores twice on the roadtrip, he'll be on pace for a 20 goal season. Geez, Hansen hasn't scored. Nor has Pyatt the pylon.

Im not against Raymond im just saying he is not helping his line thus far and is just as much to blame as Pyatt. I have high hopes for this kid, he is going to be great when he gets it all together, I just feel it's not fair to put all the blame on Pyatt for this lines lack of contribution.

the end worked out with me saying hes fast, young and has potential
but
hes got no finish, turns the puck over alot and isnt responsible defensively
i said there lots of players like him out there that cant make the jump to the nhl and i dont think he has what it takes
wished him luck though as it best for out team
and got destroyed

He's been terrible his first few games, looked great in preseason but he's got a horrible shooting bias and he misses the net most of the time. Also, I was jazzed about his hitting in preseason (That hit on Gagne was awesome) , but it's been AWOL the first three in. Here's hoping those three start clicking.

Have some of you just started watching this this year?

This is not new. People have been saying the same thing about TP since he got here. We thought he'd improve, fit in on a line, find a role, etc.... Patience is running out. His value is declining.

Raymond just made the NHL. He had to fight for a spot on this team in pre-season. We now expect him to improve, fit on a line , find a role, etc.... We should be patient. His value should increase.

He is not useless. The only thing Raymond needs to do is get the freakin shot on net. He has great hands in close, but when he is going full tilt for a shot he needs to get it on target.

I didn't say he won't get it together this season im just saying while people are hitting the Panic Button and wanting to crucify Pyatt they may want to look at Raymonds play aswell as to why this line is not producing early. Skating fast down the wing and taking a bad angle to the golie is not a solid offensive opertunity.
