Yeah Grabner! Our top two lines are pretty exciting to watch. I remember seeing the Raymond Kesler Grabner line a couple of pre-seasons ago, but I didn't think I'd see it in the real NHL season. Awesome awesome awesome!

What a SNIPE.

That was such a nice shot and Grabby had a great game in front of his AHL teammates.

It's only one goal...but it was a very impressive one. I'm getting back up on the fence...he's been better the past couple games and tonight was clearly his best game so far.

He was also much better tonight getting back into the play and he looked alert instead of lost.

In Edmonton on the game winning goal he was guilty of not picking up the goal scorer. If he had been getting back that goal might not have happened. While the rest of the team was frantically defending he was watching from the point looking for an outlet pass as the team was outmanned down low and in trouble...but other than that he hasn't made too many glaring defensive mistakes...

But tonight was his night and the goal was high quality. A few more like that and he can start to solidify a spot on this team.

The reaction of the Moose players was classic. At first it was oh wow...sweet and then the realization for some of them that maybe this means they won't be called up to replace him anytime soon...lol.

The biggest thing that has surprised or disappointed me with Grabner has been the lack of pace with which he plays. He has speed but very often he looks like he is tired and slow. He doesn't attack people with speed a la Mason Raymond. I thought he'd be zipping around trying to make something happen. Instead hes a guy who often slides away from the play to the open area to wait for a pass to get his shot off. Not a bad thing but was hoping for something different i guess. I was hoping he'd be a much more aggressive skater. The goal tonight was nice. First time I've seen him really get the puck and have a second to look up and fire one. And was pretty sweet.

You could see the confidence that was oozing from him after the goal. On his next shift he was throwing the body and skating hard for the lose pucks, often winning the battles.

With the Leafs coming in with their poor defense and even worse goaltending, his scoring could continue.

I hope Grabs scores against the Leafs. The more confident he gets just like in the AHL the better he gets game after game :).

I never even got to see the pictures. At least Alicia Whitten made it worth my while to click on the thread.

I wanna see Grabby light it up against the Leafs. I can't see us losing after the intensity and desperation against the Hawks.

He was playing much much better in this game no questions asked. Had he not scored, he still would've had an awesome game. His plays along the boards - he won at least one fight in the offensive zone, plus the excellent tape to tape passes (he made two).

He indoubtedly played his best game with or without the goal.
Humble pie is delicious :)

to be honest for a rookie he is doing pretty good... he has 2 points in 4 games with the canucks, got his first goal against the hawks, and it was a nice goal, he is in position for the most part... and tonight against the hawks, he creamed a guy... i hope that this is the beginning of his career as a canuck... because the path he is taking is looking good :D
RETIRE NUMBER 19!! Forever a canuck- Markus Naslund:

Grabner is also 12th on the team in hits over 4 games. He is tied with Burrows and has one less than Kesler. He has more hits than Glass, Samuelsson, Bolduc...

Raymond is 3rd on the team in hits. It is great to see some of our smaller, young players play with some physical edge.

Comparison between Shiro and Grabner

Shiro: 3 Games, 0 Points , 3 shots on goal, 1 hit, -4

Grabner: 4 games, 2 points, 12 shots on goal, 5 hits, -2

I remember getting flamed when I said at training camp that Shirokov and Grabner were on the same playing field...
Double the trouble.

I think that he's playing a smarter game than Raymond at an earlier stage in his NHL career, probably from the time spent in the AHL.

Gathering speed on the rush is a great thing, but in the past, there were points where I wished Raymond would just slow down and wait for his linemates to catch up, or a least be able to get some support instead of trying to shoot from a low percentage area.

Grabner is much better than Raymond down low and also has a better shot.

1 goal 1 assist in 4 games... That is pretty good, and I am totally loving the Raymond-Kesler-Grabner line... They are everywhere on the ice, and if Raymond could just finish a bit more, that would be great too!!! ;)

Grabner should have alot more space to work with against Toronto since they play an open game. It will be fun to see him really use his speed with more open ice.

Shiro was very shaky though. Grabner looks more confident.

I'm stoked for when Shiro gets called back up though, he's going to light it up.
