I'm sure it's been brought up here before. Gillis is asking a lot out of Krog to stay in the AHL another year, though.

More like Gillis is telling Krog to stay in the AHL for another year and collect his one way contract. Does Krog have a choice?
Trade Bieksa? Not even if it was a one for one deal for a guy like Ovechkin. And I am being serious. Linden53

Not really. Krog is making $700,000 to play for the Moose. That's almost 10 times what the average AHLer makes.

I think he only makes this much if he's called up. Can somebody clarify this?

No, he actually makes that money guarenteed. He got an NHL contract, one of the reasons he didn't go to Europe.

He wouldn't have played in the AHL if it wasnt for more money.

did you want AV to put the skates on and play for Bieksa? It's actually not a bad idea because he cannot, possibly, be any worse than Bieksa.

Sad........but true

Yup - and the Moose have agreed to pay a good chunk of that to have the AHL MVP on their team.

I honestly think that the Canucks gave Krog a fair shot at making the team. But Wellwood outplayed him in the preseason, and ended up cementing his spot after the call-up.

Grabner generally scores 60% to 70% of his goals during the 2nd half of the season, the fact he already has 6 puts him on the "Grabner" pace of about 35.

Being a slow starter could be a knock, but I'd rather have a guy that picks it up in the 2nd half rather then the alternative. (one who only appears in the 1st half) Last year of his 22 goals I think most of them were later in the season and it continued into the playoffs where he had 3 goals in 6 games. (5 games?)

This has generally been the case since the minors. If the pattern continues, I wouldn't worry too much - better to have the momentum going into the playoffs obviously.

For a 43 year old you type and speak like a 16 year old.

The key difference is that Sopel can fill in for Seabrook and Campbell just fine. Bieksa, he is garbage so in that sense he is like the worst defenseman in the league.

To early to call him a bust or a success

Some guys don't do well in the AHL and thrive in the big show. Some rock the AHL and cant cut it up on the big club (Krog)

Grabner = 5 points in last 6 games.

Hopefully he can keep up his play.

(Grabner watch - 9 goals and 6 assists for 15 points so far this season).

In other news. Grabner is Austrian, and is married already at the young age of... 20 something. oh and has a child.

for someone who is inconsistent do you think he needs to play more often?

AHL schedules are very spread out. perhaps he needs to play every other night to be more consistent?

someone wanna look up stats and see when he scores? in the second game of back to backs perhaps?

to be honest, i am disappointed with him. i thought last year was supposed to be his rookie season in the AHL, ok that's a good excuse. but now, it's his sophomore already, shouldn't he be lighting it up, while gaining the coach's confidence in him to let him play his 15-20min's per game already? lighting it up durign the 2nd half of the season is another excuse. what kind of a player in the NHL only lights it up durign the 2nd half of the season. if that were the case next year, come december this time again, he would of been traded/demoted wouldn't he?
