Choose 3 players you would like to see drafted with the 1st round pick. These players are all ranked in the 20-50 position.
If hope I didn't miss anyone big from this list that might be there at 26.

I voted josefson, kulikov, and barrie. I voted right wing position wise but I think we need depth in every position.
You could almost expand the picks to five, I could have easily added Rajala to my short list, I also like Vincour and Doherty on that list.

2nd - Doherty
3rd - Despres
Would be nice to have a powerforward in the system as Toxic said, but my vote for what we need to improve is defense. Sauve, Ellington, who?
extra 2: Josefson, Kulikov(nationality will probably make him an early 2nd rounder)

The main reason why Russians drop is because they currently play in Russia and there is no guarantee that a team can get them to come overseas and its harder to project how they will fare in the North American style of play.

Chicago Blackhawks
Robert Nilsson-Steve Reinprecht-Mikael Samuelsson

There's still the possibility of him pulling a Radulov, the chances are slim, but just my feeling that he will drop a bit.

I screwed up my vote. I only voted for one.
My actual five:
Doherty
Kulikov
Ferraro
Joesefson
Barrie
Although, Joesefson and Ferraro will probably be gone.

Edler point prediction: 12 goals, 33 assists and 45 points / Edler point counter: 0 goals, 7 assists and 7 points.

My guess is Kulikov will be gone too. Hopefully not tho.

A towering defensive project wouldn't kill us. He has the aggression and willingness to use his size, so the risk is minimal. As long as you're not expecting offense.
Aside from that, any power forward would be nice. When was the last time we drafted a power forward?

And moreover, the last time we drafted and developed a proper power forward.

Ryan Kesler? Not sure if he completely qualifies. And I generally dont call Kesler first line material.
I would like to see us draft something of everything, obviously. A good power forward would be really nice, but if a super-skilled defenseman like Kulikov or Barrie fell into our hands I would be very tempted to go that way instaead. Kulikov has been called one of the best prospects ever to play on the QMJHL team he plays for, according to his coach. Now while that may not mean much in the long run, he plays for the same coach that Crosby played for.
A super-skilled powerforward to play with Cody would be ultra-cool tho.

Kesler isn't really a power forward, more of a top two-way grinder.

you really think he's a power forward? he has the frame but when i've seen him play he never uses it. i've read he's a michael handzus player which is pretty close imo too. i think we can do better then that in the 1st. if he was around in the 2nd maybe

luongo win tracker- 3 down 47 to go imo lu will be the 1st goalie to 50 wins
