I am curious as it appears he no longer even plays for the Kings farm team in Manchester...anyone know where he is or what he is doing?

(I can see the flipping burgers jokes coming at lightning speed)

The only things sadder than Cloutier are the pictures of the beachballs and the people who post them. It was funny once, and barely at that.

Get over Cloutier and grow up, he has moved on, we have moved on. He is no longer a Canuck, and as far as I know, will never be.

All I have to say is the more people that jump off the bandwagon, the more legroom I get

Nope, the sedins are replaceable and it will be no BIG DEAL if they leave. The notion of a rebuild without the sedins is ridiculous. They're not superstars or anything. They're complementary players who can be replaced easily.

On February 7, 2008, he cleared waivers once more and was again added to the Los Angeles Kings' NHL roster.[2] Three days later, Cloutier made his return to the NHL by starting in goal against the Columbus Blue Jackets. His performance that night resulted in a 3-2 shootout victory over the Jackets, and clinched his first National Hockey League win in over a year.[3] He was officially bought out by the Kings on June 21, 2008 and is now an unrestricted free agent, however Cloutier filed a grievance saying he was previously injured so the buyout is void. On August 2, 2008 the NHL sided with the LA Kings noting the buyout should stand - the case could go to arbitration.

For something to be funny, it has to have substance and something to laugh about. Your posts have neither, so I suggest you go write some new material.. instead of stealing it from someone who isn't really that funny to begin with anyway.

Wait a minute

is this like a sad sort of bit of sarcasm reflecting what the current state of the Canucks are going through right now?

Dan Cloutier's name pops up
3 game slide?

Cloutier, at minimum salary, can be Karl Goehring's backup.

He can't sign with anyone while they are still working on his appeal of the buyout.

Check out this sad, sad article about the guy. Its from a few months back, but even in May I think he knew his career was over. And the Kings did too, based on how they treated the guy.

Quote

Only after a specialist said his career could be in jeopardy, the Kings sent him to Vail for season-ending surgery. In pain, Cloutier flew to Colorado in a middle economy-class seat and was lodged by the Kings at a Super-8 Motel about 50 kilometres from the clinic where he was treated daily.

Quote

"They said: 'You're going to go down there and play every game, good or bad, get your game back and see what happens,' " Cloutier said of the demotion. "I actually thought it was going to be a good thing. But I got down there and all of a sudden I'm not playing.
"So I said: 'All right, what are your plans for me?' They give me the old: 'We still believe in you' and all that. I played 14 games and I was down there for four or five months; you're not going to get your game back that way, especially after being out almost three years."

Cloutier's wife, Nikki, accompanied her husband to the American League, where they lived in a hotel. They were expecting their first baby in December. As the due date neared, Cloutier asked the Kings to move them into an apartment. The team balked and said the Cloutiers should stay in their hotel.

"I said: 'I can't, we're expecting a baby here. I don't know if it's a big thing to you guys, but to me it's the most important thing,'" Cloutier said. "Finally, I called the [Players' Association] and they said after 28 days you're entitled to get a place."

Quote

"Don't get me wrong, it's been a great career. I got a chance to play 10 years, made a lot of friends, played in some great cities, made tons of money. But to end it like this, that's not the way anybody wants to end it."

The LA Kings did not treat him with any class. If this is how they treat all of their players, is it really a surprise that they struggle to attract free agents?
