Usage notes

Though anyways is often considered to be a colloquial variant of anyway, it is actually an older genitive form analogous to always and forwards (compare alway and forward), the 's' being identical to the apostrophe-'s' used to make the genitive (possessive) forms of nouns in most modern instances.
