I'm all for the BPA, but within reason. I don't want to take a goaltender, and any skater we take has to be tough, or at least chippy.

Drafting Philosophy -> Other becuz it seriously depends on the situation at hand.
I am a little surprised by the Doherty love-in, but I have not seen him play.

I haven't seen him play either, but everything I've read about him makes me want him.
Having a 6'8'', 220 lb defenceman isn't a bad thing. He's aggressive and actually uses his size. Loves to hit, willing to fight and while his skating isn't great, it's still good, especially for such a big guy. He never takes a shift off and is a quality shut-down guy.
He can take stupid penalties from time to time, but that's something liely to temper with age. His decisions with the puck and mobility through traffic could use work, but he's not really slated to be an offensive guy. if he could keep his game simple through his development, he would be an excellent shut-down gu to have. Obviously, a lot of scouts are comparing him to Zdeno Chara. Minus the offensive dimension, of course.
Again, I haven't seen him play, but the Canucks could really benefit from a defenceman with Doherty's overall package.

Actually I have heard that he is a smooth skating guy. Besides, with a guy like Dave Gagner able to help develop players sakting ability, I am not concerened about that. His decision making scares me a little, but nontheless I would not be upset if we pick him with a late first round choice.
I would still probobly pick a guy who like Tomas Tatar or Toni Rajala if I thought that they might get taken soon, these guys are going to be bargain picks IMO.

Klingberg (my 1st choice)
Vincour
Kassian
Ferraro
Rajala
I only started doing some research on Kingberg a few days ago, but I like everything I've read about him. I'll post what I posted in the other thread
He is listed at 6'3 205lbs, he is a Right-Handed RW, playing for Frolunda in Sweden and even earning a call-up to the SEL team where he has 1 goal in 5 games. Currently has 1G and 1A for Sweden in the Juniors. He has 19 points in 25 games for the Frolunda jrs.

EDIT: Scott Glennie is another I like

2nd choice- Rundblad- if he's there it would be a steal, imo he out played hedman at the wjrc, has size, can skate, ton of skill great passer and a great shot
3rd choice-Glennie- another guy i dout is there, having a great year, is a fairly big canadian kid who can score, imo better then schenn this year
4th choice- Joesefson- good smart 2-way guy, with speed. fairly safe pick. imo his high end is daniel alfredson
5th choice- Leblanc- reminds me a lot of gagne and will have a big u-18( my prediction)
all would be good picks

luongo win tracker- 3 down 47 to go imo lu will be the 1st goalie to 50 wins
