I recently discovered Phil Collins' debut solo album, Face Value, in my collection and was surprised to see "Behind the Lines" in the track listing. The version released on Genesis' 1980 Duke album is still one of my favorite pieces by the band, but I was curious to see what the re-recorded version from Collins' 1981 solo album would sound like. I also believe the song could be adapted as a single, but this was certainly not what I expected. It fails to sound spectacular enough for my liking.
