What are you listening to?

Based on Jeff Marek's recommendation on the 31 Thoughts podcast, I'm listening to Dan Carlin's Hardcore History podcast, starting with part 1 of "Blueprint for Armageddon".

 

Almost halfway through the 3+ hour episode, and it's phenomenal. It's all about the backstory to WW1.

 

Crazy Fact #1: Kaiser Wilhelm's inferiority complex was so bad that the German military director actually had to propose that they should no longer formulate their strategic war-games with the side that the Kaiser commanded automatically being the winner.

I once took this man to a club named Luv-a-fair, his band was in Vancouver opening for NIN . True story, was a fun night. 

 

That was at least 1.5 million years ago, it seems.

 

Is everyone becoming a Country music hybrid these days....? A good cover

J.J. Cale   "Collected' a three lp set on 180gram vinyl

Kurt Vile "Bottle It In" a two lp album

 

Listening to Cale and thinking "Damn Clapton and Knopfler  really took from this guy's sound."

The Vile album is solid all the way through
