I've recently started liking Nadal more than Federer. Fed just comes off as being too pretentious whereas Nadal seems way more down to earth. I respect Federer's talent and accomplishments, he's an amazing player, but I don't like his attitude.

However when it comes down to it, I'm 100% for Djokovic and Ivanovic!

My favourite player since I started to watch/play tennis was Roddick (when he was #1). Now, he's not doing to well, but whatever.

I prefer Federer over Nadal, I don't really know why.

I like Andy Roddick too...I just see a good sense of humor coming through with Federer...that he doesn't take himself too seriously.

Andy Murray's really making a name for himself. I like this video.

once he became really good, he seemed slightly arrogant. kind of reminds me of Cristiano Ronaldo.

Yeah that was impressive, and he probably has a solid chance in his 2nd match too. He'll be playing against Muller, who won the 5.5 hour match

I've always been a Roddick fan so never any good results for me sadly

but I've liked Nadal more than Federer because of Federer's less than modest attitude. He had that air of expectancy, if you catch my drift. I like humble players and Nadal, though he's getting the Federer effect a bit now, has a much better attitude.

Now, Federer is toning that down, cause he's losing, so invariably i'm gonna start liking him more now

That's exactly how I feel!!

Once in a while I travel to some tennis tournaments and I saw one of Nadal's practices at Roland Garros in 2006. After the practice the bodyguards tried to clear a path and Nadal helped him by pushing away a little boy (approx. 5/6 years old). That really pissed me off and since then there is no doubt I like Federer more!

Federer is the more talented player, he has every shot in the book and a few that aren't in the book. Nadal is the ultimate grinder, he wears you down by making you hit so many shots. He has the ball striking ability of Agassi, the speed and tenacity of Michael Chang, and the work ethic of Jim Courier. I would say Federer is the better player, but by the thinnest margin.

Although they are both great players, I have a hard time getting into tennis these days.

I used to be a big fan back in the Connors, McEnroe & Borg era. I liked the fact that there seemed to be some actual animosity between the players (Although being part of The Borg, Bjorn never let it show ;) ) Tennis in those days even had their own Sean Avery, (no, not McEnroe) a guy named Ilie "Nasty" Nastase.

Players today are just too nice.

Orland Kurtenbach and Dennis Kearns had just been torched 8-1 by the Habs, but they still took time to come out to meet us, some fellow BC boys who were playing hockey in Montreal. THAT"S what being a Canuck is!

Federer is one of the most talented players I've ever seen but Nadal is just so exciting and different to watch! You never know what crazy shot he's going to come up with so he's a lot of fun to watch. I'd pay a lot of money to watch a match between those 2.

Exactly...and I agree (with so many points here).

Initially, I was more in support of Nadal...the underdog/young kid with so much heart. But, as Nadal rose to challenge Federer, Nadal's ego seemed to grow and Federer became more lighthearted, modest and approachable. Struggling seemed to bring out a more likeable Federer for me and he had a humbler side that included a sense of humor.

In all around tennis greatness, I'd go with Federer.

And the two remind somewhat of Andres/Pete. Pete was the better tennis player overall - more consistent and steady, but Andres could beat him and had the electrifying game that included unbelievable shots that made him so exciting to watch. Plus, the passion he had for the game, coupled with his absolute elation when he won made him my favorite. They seemed like polar opposites but, near the end of their careers, developed a friendship that was really fun to watch. I started watching Andres him from the get go, when he was that neon spandexed, long haired rebellious kid. Knew he was something special from the start.

Its getting crowded at the top again, federer, Nadal, Djokovic, Murry, Davydenko, plus Roddick and Hewett still have something left in the tank.
