DeNiro
Updates, anyone?
Haven't been able to find anything on him. I think management is keeping reporters away until he's ready to come back though. So don't be surprised to have him return out of nowhere when he's ready... Ghostsof1915
Last report was "Upper body injury". But I think we can all agree it's probably a concussion, it doesn't take 2 months to heal from abrasions.
avelanch
Last report was "Upper body injury". But I think we can all agree it's probably a concussion, it doesn't take 2 months to heal from abrasions. Last I heard was that it was a concussion. "upper body injury" was what was reported right after the accident, "concussion" came out a couple days (weeks?) later as a more detailed report. It was also in that Saint John article about the reporter complaining about not having access to talk to Sauve about the incident when the canucks specifically said no media contact. UFCanuck
Last I heard, he's back skating. At least it's a step towards finally playing. Sauve is skating as he plods his way back from a concussion suffered in September. http://www.winnipegfreepress.com/sports/hockey/moose/107677488.html
avelanch
nice find, sounds like Sauve is starting to feel better. Good news just keeps coming out of Manitoba.
Ghostsof1915
Great to hear he's skating, since it's a concussion I can understand why they want to give him lots of time to recover.
mdehaan
He participated in the skills competition today with the Moose. Looks like he competed in the fasted skater and breakaway competitions. Good to see he's back skating with the team!
Canuckee
Supposidely Claude Noel said that he isn't close to coming back and it doesn't look two good actually. Heard this on hfboards, supposidly from a Winnipeg article
Canuckee
Here's a quote from a Moose article talking about Sauve not being close yet. "Sauve, who was hit by a car prior to the Canucks’ training camp, has been skating on his own of late but still has a long way to go to get up to game speed. “I don’t have a target date, if that’s what you’re asking,” said Noel. “He doesn’t look good for a guy who hasn’t been on the ice for awhile.”

The positive thing is that he's skating again, that's the first step. But whether or not he feels the lingering effects of his concussion will be revealed when he starts more strenuous workouts. The reality is he could be weeks away or he could be months away. Lets hope his recovery goes well.
Hafizzle
Thank god he's skating again. I was starting to believe that the accident may have been the end of his career.
nuck nit
Not only is Yann skating but he lit it up at the skills competition for the Moose. I hope this precedes his playing again. Nice to see. :D
nuck nit
Not bad speed for a player out three months with serious injury: FASTEST SKATER: TEAM WHITE Jeff Tambellini 14.53 seconds Chris Tanev 14.72 seconds Yann Sauve 14.56 seconds FASTEST SKATER: TEAM BLACK Jordan Schroeder 14.48 seconds Bill Sweatt 14.16 seconds Kevin Clark 14.57 seconds
EastCoast47
Its good to see him skating again, it means he is making progress. I heard a rumor today that the Moose were sending him back to Saint John. I highly doubt this will happen, another year in junior will do nothing for him, and the team already has 4 20's. Ghostsof1915
I'm really nervous about our current defensive unit with the Canucks. I really would love to see Connauton, Sauve, Andersson, or Tanev crack the line up. Perhaps even all 4? At least we'd have some size and speed. avelanch
4 rookie D-men in one season? that's just asking for trouble. 2 max.
