Canucks Community: The impact Mats Sundin has on Kesler - Canucks Community
The impact Mats Sundin has on Kesler I think Gillis made the right move.

Mats is a former Captain with tons of experience dealing w/ media and pressure. This is exactly the kind of player that I would to mentor Ryan Kesler and all the young guys for that matter.
Sundin is starting to make things happen on the ice, and come playoff time his experience will come in handy. Kesler has had a hell off a season and I don't attribute that all to Sundin, but can you imagine bringing Kesler into a 2nd line that would include Demo - Kesler - Bernier, or Demo - Wellwood - Kesler? That would be a weak 2nd line to pair with any nhl team. With Sundin here Kesler can play with some good players not mediocre, and can build his confidence while learning from the best.
Sundin is a key piece to the puzzle. (this year)
Cheers to Sundin who always has a smile on his face, he is expensive but you can't deny his contribution to the locker room and his team on and off the ice.
Lets hope we stay healthy.

Then Kess can help do the same for Hodgeson. Great for our organization.
I am going to hold on to this one for when were under 500 at the quarter pole. There is no way a roster like this can make the playoffs.
Unless Luongo can stand on his head and I mean on his left ear, there is no way this club goes anywhere. I bet were under 500 after the first 20 games. This being said, with our current roster. We'll see who's on the crack Kobracom77.

Here is a bold statement, if the season were to start right now, I think a healthy team from last season could beat a healthy team from this season.

Canucks would be lucky to finish 5th last overall forget 5 in the conference.
It well take 96 points to get into the the playoffs this season.
I don't see the Canucks even getting to the post season at this point -- if every body plays above expectations -- if the defence stays healthy -- if Sundin signs here -- this team might get 90 points -- still not enough to get in.
sweet sigs by chizzle.

It's been great to see that RPM line clicking so well
Both Kes and Demitra seem to be taking more initiative to play well since that line was formed

I agree
just having magic #13 out there guys are playing with the will to win
Mats may not have a bunch of goals
but the rest of the team does
once and a while I find myself watching games and all of a sudden you go
OMG that's Mats Sundin
I'm sure our guys find themselves doing the same thing

Sundin in an interview(not sure what one) said that kesler used too try and trip him and what not in the games they did play, and that he is stoked to see Kesler coming into his own.

If we can keep motivated, we are not much different than that duck team that won the cup, two lines that can dominate!
