CHL rookie of the year?
Most goals by a 16 year old since Patrick Marleau?
But pushing it to be drafted in the top 5?
Tell me, where is your logic in that???

At this point. Brett Connolly's points are impressive as a rookie but that's it. He ended up with a -28 +/- as well and was a no show for the playoffs. Potential wise, he is in the late 1st round, early 2nd round at this point but for the next year will be a big step because of the obvious growth spurts. There has been several of players who are more intriguing in the eye of a scout.
John McFarland is currently ranked higher because of his size. He has 40+ pounds on Connolly and has a mold of a big strong power forward. Conolly isn't at that stage yet for scouts to have a good read and it doesn't help that his team sucks and it's not his draft year.

my logic is when I watch connolly he reminds me alot of lecavlier with his size, skating and hands
he's 6"1 160 right now, by draft day i'm thinking he'll be 6"3ish 200ish
has unreal hands, is a good skater but could be a little more physical
he does need to back check better but so does every young player
imo he will get 40 goals and 90 points next year in the dub with no suporting cast
is he a bit behind a few guys in the draft right now, yes but if he busts his tail in the gym and works on his back check and physical game I see no reason he can't catch up.
also i've seen a few guys who have him late 1st, who do you guys have as a better whl prospect?

luongo win tracker- 3 down 47 to go imo lu will be the 1st goalie to 50 wins

2010 doesnt look nearly as good for the WHL as 2009. I would say that Connolly is the 2nd best WHL prospect available in 2010, with defenseman Mark Pysyk being #1.
The OHL is loaded with top end talent, couple that with the dynamic Ruski's and Finn's, and its hard to get Connolly in the top 10. I wouldnt mind the Canucks getting their hands on him, but he would have to last until the 20's I'm sure, but that isnt likely, as he should be a 12-22 pick.

well i guess if living in Prince George makes any difference to the Vancouver Canucks hockey club, then maybe.
He is the best on the team IMO, but that does nothing to say that we should draft him.
If we have a late teens early 20's pick next year, depending on who is available I would take him, especially since his favourite team is the Canucks.

He walks around everyone like pylons and has pretty good finish.
His major flaw from what i've seen is that he is pretty lazy, and he only lights it up when he has the puck. Not much backchecking or physical play from him.

Thanks to Canuck Munkey for the sig!
"Too bad on that April night as he skated off for the last time,
no one stopped to say thanks.
It had been quite a ride."

Tyrell definitely better

Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men
who find it easier to live in the world they've been given
than to explore the power they have to change it.
Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion.
Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare.
Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary.
Impossible is nothing.
