A 3 page thread for a player who isnt a canucks prospect, is a 3rd liner on his junior team, and has already been passed over in a draft.
I guess he is a sibling to a Canuck player, and MG drafted Rai in his 2nd year of eligibility, I just think its funny.
He is a servicable player, but Grinders are easy to find, if we do end up drafting this kid, it better be with our 6th or 7th rounder.

Sweet A$$ Russian player,he will be in the 2010 draft,top 3 IMO.
Several scouts say the Moscow native, the Kontinental Hockey League's youngest player, stands a good chance to become the No.1 pick in the 2010 NHL entry draft.
J.P. Barry, the agent for Mats Sundin and Evgeni Malkin, said Kabanov's quickness is comparable to Alex Ovechkin at the same age and other agents and scouts are similarly complimentary. Three years ago, when Kabanov was 13, NHL super-agent Don Meehan flew him and his father Sergei, a former Russian army special forces major, to Toronto in an unsuccessful bid to sign Kabanov to a representation contract, Sergei Kabanov said.
Last year, agent Jay Grossman watched Kabanov play at the world under-17 championship in London, Ont., a tournament that featured John Tavares and others who will be eligible for the 2009 NHL draft. A full year younger than most others at the tournament, Kabanov finished third in scoring.
I would love for us to draft this kid next year.

If he's that good then he's not going to the Canucks.

He is bigger than Kyle and is a fitness fanatic. Plus he has major league wheels.

Eric Wellwood, just 18-years-old and undrafted, impressed Leaf brass after a three-game tryout at rookie camp with his size, speed and strength.
Quote
Both the defensive-minded Thomas Stajan and the taller, committed-to-fitness Eric Wellwood are among the invitees to the Maple Leafs' rookie training camp, ready to step out from under the shadows of their NHL relations and make names for themselves.
"I just want them to know I'm a player," said Windsor Spitfires left winger Eric Wellwood. "I'm not Kyle, I'm Eric. I want them to know how I play. I don't want to be judged through Kyle."
...
In an opposite stall at Ricoh sat the 18-year-old Wellwood. At 5-foot-11, 179 pounds, he's taller and beefier than his older brother. The knock on Kyle - a skilled playmaker when he was at his best - wasn't that he was too short, but that he wasn't committed to fitness. Eric said that's not a problem for him.
"That's one thing I pride myself on," said Eric Wellwood. "I finished first on the Spitfires in our fitness tests. I really focus on my training."
The younger Wellwood is speedy, but not much of a points producer, with nine goals and seven assists in 68 games.
"At the beginning of the year, I didn't play much," said Wellwood. "As I went on, I started playing more. I'm not much of point-getter. I'm more of team-first, defensive player. I think that will help me out in the end."

Always listen to experts. They'll tell you what can't be done and why. Then do it.
Never try to teach a pig to sing - it wastes your time and annoys the pig.
