He's KHL for life. I doubt we even have his rights anymore.

he'll join if he wants to join
QUOTE (G0NUCKSG0 @ Jun 3 2009, 05:14 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Salo should be making $1.5M, not $3.75M, especially when he is hurt. I like that Mitchell for Johnson proposal. Injecting youth into our defensive corps would be good for us. Johnson and Mitchell are similar players, Erik has more offensive upside though.

J Bo's a bum, Bieksa would mop the ice with him in most aspects of the game.

He makes more money in the KHL and tax-free than he would make in the NHL his first couple of years.
Plus, he gets to stay in his home country and not worry about acclimating to N.America.

I'd like to see him over here, but I don't think it'll happen.
Not unless the KHL imposes a salary cap and its more monetarily beneficial for him to come over here.

With all that speculation about the importance of money, I'd say the KHL can keep him. Vancouver wants character players, not prima donnas.

Well, he decided to get up and leave.

Edler point prediction: 12 goals, 33 assists and 45 points / Edler point counter: 0 goals, 7 assists and 7 points.

Most of these Russians prefer money over the hockey, and I don't blame them either. They came from a communist background which is popular in Asia I guess. So to make money is the bigger deal than joining the Canucks. That is just the reality setting in. By the way, I don't get why people call the Russians "europeans" because they are not from Europe...Russia is located in Asia people!

Well actually Russia is both European, and Asian. What is more commonly referred to as Eurasia. About a quarter is European (including Moscow), and the other 3/4 are Asian.
Optimistic about 08-09.

As a university student studying geography ur response pains me...ur wrong....Russia spans two continents

http://en.wikipedia....on)_cropped.svg

the chunk that is in europe is actualy 40% of europe...and contains most of the big cities (the ones hockey players are usauly from)

**apparently someone else beat me to it~

So by that logic, every player on the Canucks should be signing for league minimum
In case you haven't noticed, trying to get the most money to provide for your family isn't an evil thing.

I guess since Canada has some parts of it in the arctic, Vancouver, because of association, will also be part of the arctic.

Russia is considered as an European country because their population centres, cultural centres, and industrial centres are all located in the European side.

My goodness... that quote alone should be reason enough to revamp the entire education system <_<

Thats the way it is now. IF you're rich you go to the game. If you are middle class you watch in hd, if you are lower class you watch in sd. If you are broke azz you listen to the radio.

To err is human - but to really screw up you need a computer.

Always listen to experts. They'll tell you what can't be done and why. Then do it.

Never try to teach a pig to sing - it wastes your time and annoys the pig.

What would you have done? Attempt to torture him to death with your continued inability to decipher between "your" and "you're"?

Yes, the Canucks still have his rights:

And they will until the end of next season when he will be 27 and UFA (dob - 1 Feb 1983)
