If we signed Gaborik we may have to think of moving Hordichuk out of the lineup. ;)

I could see Hansen being moved; with Grabner and Hodgson moving up. Hansen was only used once in the playoffs.

Gaborik's a great player, but do we really want to pay him 7M so he can play 20 games and get us 35Pts?
For the last 5 seasons, he played more than 70 games once (77 games) in 07-08.
His GP goes like 65 games, 65 games, 48 games, 77 games and 17 games.

Hudler would probably take a paycut to stay in Detroit.

I would not be surprised.

we lost because our defence was SLOW and was no match to Chicago's defence....most times our guys would pitch in and be too slow to come back if they lost the puck...not like Chicago, Seabrook and Campbell were like Paul Coffey out there!

Oh and when you have a top notch speedy defenceman like Neidemayer of Bowmeester, they can play LOTS of minutes and 3rd pairings mean nothing as they hardly play

In order for our offence to grow, we need our defence to play BOTH ends of the rink...we lost because our defence were slugs...Neidemayer and Bowmeester would be a blessing

Favorite all time Canuck: Bertuzzi 2002-2003 season
Most clutch all time Canuck: Linden 1994 Stanley Cup Playoffs
Most exciting all time Canuck: Pavel Bure 90's

Good post. I'd say having a bonafide No. 1 defensemen is the most important component of a team. (Even more so than goaltending and a No. 1 center)

Ken Holland has always been saying how two-way defensemen and two-way forwards are most important compenants of a team. Which is why the Red Wings model has Lidstrom as highest paid and best player.

No team ever wins the Cup without a solid No. 1 defensemen, except maybe Carolina. (Pronger, Lidstrom, Neidermayer, Boyle, Rafalski, Blake, S.Stevens, etc)

Perhaps the reason we've never won a cup was because we never really had a No. 1 defensemen. As much as I liked Salo, Ohlund and Jovonski, they just weren't complete enough to lead the way.

i'd much rather have hossa on our team and JayBo instead of Gaborik and Scott Niedermayer because Hossa would produce more than gaborik becuase Gaborik is made of glass. I wouldnt doubt him being hurt first 20 games. Hossa is a tough player as well as talented. And JayBo to me would be a much better addition than Scott(IMO).

If we sign the Sedins, we must sign Samuel Pahlsson. The sedins have no more excuse of having a guy shutting them down. haha

Seabrook wasn't noticeably speedy. It was Campbell and Keith that were the fast ones. Barker and Seabrook are more in the medium speed category.
GO CANUCKS GO

Whenever I feel sad about the Canucks I just think about the Leafs.

- Chad LaRose (good 3rd liner we can try to get if the management plans on keeping Kesler/Burrows in the top 6)
- Cam Barker (puck-moving D? I only know he has a great shot from the point)
- Kris Versteeg (we may be able to pry him from Chicago... maybe...)
- Gilbert Brule (another Wellwood-like chance for him? maybe if he comes back to Vancouver it may spur him a bit more, but the cap hit must be <1mil)
- Travis Zajac
- Ryan Clowe (a legit power forward to replace Pyatt if he doesn't re-sign)

and I know it's a pipedream, but if we can trade Bieksa for Seabrook... that'll be so awesome. (he's from Richmond :P)

Sighhhhh Just because the Blackhawks beat vancouver doesn't mean that every player on there team is amazing, bit of a love affar . As we've learned in the past as well just cause they're from vancouver or played minor hockey here doesn't mean jack squat if thats the case then I guess we should keep mitchell and just trade teams to the hawks hey?

THX alot 44 4ever awesome sig!!

This ones thx to me
